Coote
Naiqama
Simm
Bentley
Grace
That would be my pick.
Simm is 19, he isn't a baby. And if Woolf doesn't trust him over Costello against the likes of Hull KR (with all due respect) then there's something up.
NEVER WRITE OFF THE SAINTS

Return for a possible challenge cup final or thereabouts? Mid October
We could easily put Batchelor into 2nd row or centre as well.
And here lies the problem potentially same as before. We have a squad to provide cover and gain experience to develop and so improve the squad. If KW doesn't play players in their speciality position with both MP and TM out then I really will be highly ••••ed off. Yet we can all see it about to happen again. Bentley plays very well so move him. Welsby who had a shocker of a period in centre and full back so play him. Costello according to many has no future at a top club so play him. Yes I can see it playing out like this for sure. KW in spite of winning a couple of games (against weakened opposition) is still wrong for Saints, I've no time for him and he'll potentially ruin the future of some of our young rising starlets. Get rid.

Of course he has.
I think the RFL probably had little choice - but if they were to feel lenient, it wouldn't be toward a Saints player.
The hope, I guess, is that he's able to plea-bargain a lesser offence. But if the RFL are intent on the grade F or nothing, then only a technicality would save him.
Whatever, I'd rather see Costello in for Percival, with Simm on the wing outside of Naiqama.
It seems unfair really when you think that the BMM offence almost broke English’s jaw and he will probably get two games. English didn’t play for the rest of the game. The grab on Watts had no effect on him whatsoever and Tommy will get 8 matches. I’m not saying what he did was ok but you’d think there’d be more parity with the punishment.
And did Genkul Benneh Floower only actually miss about 10 games for his cowardly assault on a prone player that ended said player's career? Despite the RFL pretending to throw the book at him with a 6-month ban, knowing full well that nearly 4 months of that were the off-season?

Not sure the two are even related -
I get a smack in the jaw either playing or not playing its seen as a natural act by most males
I get grabbed by the goolies - firstly it probably hurts more (definitely has the capacity to hurt more) and isnt acceptable in pretty much any standard way that you want to look at it - not only that its a grub thing to do.
Thats why the sentence is potentially so high
I dont think that Tommy set out to do that (unlike when Leon Pryce did it) as he would have put more force into it, he is probably trying to grab something that gives him some more stability and stopping him being dominated in the tackle. He realised exactly what it was he had hold of and then let go - but by then its too late. But at this point he can only plead guilty with mitigating circumstances - its not like he can say he didnt do it.
He can only now rely on his previous good conduct, and the fact it was accidental - I would be surprised if he got 8 matches - but he is at the least looking at 4

No absolutely not, but as St. Willy (ironic eh!) says in this day and age it is unacceptable. I do not know Tommy but his character seems to be grounded and humble, he has yet to be found guilty so we do not know his version.
The comparisons with Ben Flower are that if Flower was not playing a game of rugby a prison sentence may have been issued, the same could potentially apply here.
Can anyone remember how many matches Leon got for Ballgate with Sam Burgess? I think 6 but may be wrong. Leon definitely knew what he was doing as well. Tommy wasn’t looking but it was reckless to say the least and he should get a ban.
when will his punishment be announced?

No intent whatsoever , I wouldn’t even call it reckless. Yes he grabbed his gonads so a punishment should be enforced but it should be within the realms of unintentional accident .
3 games seems excessive but I’d say fair enough. Anything more I would hope the club would challenge it
Oh, how times change!
