Looks like we will at last be using the "umbrella" defensive line , something we seem to struggle against , Wembley, Cas the match after .

The defense is the one thing I wouldn't be changing to be honest. Everything else but not that.

Two good videos on YouTube of him, one with a lot of his ball carries on. I know highlight videos can be misleading but if he seems to run the ball in really hard. If he’s got the fitness and drive to do that every set he’d be a good addition to our pack. Big hitter in D as well.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

A bit more motivating than "lets get out there and cause mayhem".

It was the use of fu@@ing in that sentence made it motivating for certain players.

What he seems to be saying is , he wants to force the oppo down the middle which is what his defensive strategy is , not sliding as such , but with the "edges moving up far quicker " .

That video is 6 years old don’t forget. His thoughts/methods and the way the game is played could have changed drastically in that time.

One goes we all go is something I hear all the time, it's something I did when coaching, it works but relies on every player making the effort each and every time

I guess the top level have moved on though

Not worrying from a Saints perspective. If 30 odd international players are willing to sit out internationals in support of their coach it shows he has a massive amount of respect from players.

The part about not showing accounts (allegedly) and the reasons for his dismissal are a concern

I’m sure that Saints will have investigated that situation before signing him.

I think that is more likely Tongan RL and the old boards issue rather than actually relating to Woolf. The players are very clear they didn’t want him to go and are upset over how the new regime in Tongan RL is running the show.

Not happy to hear this at all. Needs to be fully focused on Saints.

Hardly going to make much difference, Bennett does it with GB/England

Focussed on what? There will be no one at Saints when those games are being played

Probably benefits Saints. We'll be first in the queue if any of the Tongan players decide they want out of the NRL/Australia.

Good way of looking at it, I wouldn't be overly pleased him going to Tonga mid season but could tolerate him missing a mid season game as long as it wasn't a derby or other big game.

I thought he was just being reinstated for the remainder of the games this year. I didn’t take it as he’s carrying on into 2020.

That's what I took from the article. He won't be continuing beyond the 9's

I should've probably actually read the article before commenting.
