You probably don't realise what the feeling was here. he played brilliant for half a season, then once he got an NRL gig wouldn't even catch a ball at the back.

Barba looking for a super league move apparently. Was due to play for Valencia in a competition that might not take place now and had a release clause for professional rugby anyway. Despite all his issues still no criminal conviction so could probably be allowed to play. According to the article Castleford, Catalans, Leeds, Leigh, St Helens, Warrington and Wigan all have quota spots available though I’d probably rule out Saints and Wigan. If he does come back who do we reckon would take a punt on him? Bearing in mind he’d be on a fraction of what he was on for us, though Derek Beaumont might chuck marquee money at him.

Your lot spent most of 2018 getting all giddy singing about how he was going home, so it would be a nice irony if he wasted his last year or two at Wire.

The signing of a certain Mr Inglis is evidence enough of that, morals tend to go out the window when you are as desperate as they are.

It's got Catalan Dragons written all over it
"The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom." Danny Blanchflower.
Might have been written by a footballer about football - but never a truer word............

I can't work that one out. Surely they must have done a medical to make sure he's still up to it but why would he bother, he's hardly skint and could walk into a job on TV over there. It's not like he has anything to prove.

If it's as good as the medical Wigan had done with Burgess, I won't be laughing much

Can see him going to Catalans if he was to return.

The only way he will be back at Saints is as an Opposing player.

Plus, weve got quality in Coote as shown by winning 2 grand finals because he wants to be here rather than just using us to see out his ban and as a stepping stone.

Degsy Beaumont may just go for this. I think Leigh need to make a statement and he may be it. The other utter ended up at Leigh after Cas. His name escapes me but he is at Donny now.

Wasn't his main issue mental rather than physical? He announced he is Bi Polar.

I'm not sure actually, both these are lifted off his wiki page.

On 15 April 2019, Inglis announced his immediate retirement from the NRL due to ongoing injury concerns.
In June 2019, Inglis was diagnosed with a Bipolar II disorder, following another stint in rehabilitation for alcohol problems and depression. "To get that diagnosed made me understand things a lot clearer about myself," Inglis said. "When I was in a high, I would train the best, lift the best in the gym, be so good at everything I did. But when I was feeling down, I just shut down and before I knew it, just snap
Seems to me like a mixture of both. I can't imagine signing for Warrington and living in the North West away from friends and family will do his MH much good although maybe a new challenge is what he needs.

On Barba, John Davidson on Twitter reports that he (Davidson) has spoken to the RFL today to clarify the position on Ben in response to the rumours. The RFL have stated that Barba would be refused a Visa for the UK so if SL is the option then it looks like Catalans can be his only destination.

I’m not sure he’d be denied a visa based on what he’s actually been charged with over the years (not what he’s actually done). All the RFL could do is refuse his registration and hope that their decision holds up to a legal challenge.

From what Davidson is saying, you have to play a certain number of games in the last 2 years, since hes not played since 2018 he wouldn’t qualify for a visa.

I can't see it either. You don't get denied a Visa for being a ••••ed idiot and I'm very much speaking from experience.

But which of their superstars would he replace. He does have one thing in common with Warrington- neither of them have won a SL GF.

Think he realised it long ago.

Now he just keeps the pond life happy with a few trick plays and the odd try to cover up for him going missing in the play offs.
