The fact Welsby can also play other positions is great but shouldn't be top of the criteria when picking Percy's replacement.
Too be honest I,m not too sure if Simms is the better centre for me Welsby has the better skill set in his passing plays.

Welsby's better games have been at Centre. He seems a bit lost when he's played at full back or in the halves. I think he'll get the nod based in his performances there towards the end of last season, but it's nice that we have options with him and Simm.

I can only see Coote in and Welsby to center. Little change as possible

I disagree, and we should be using the opportunity to develop Simm to see if he really does have what it takes to excel at this level.

Otherwise, I think he'll be off after next season if he doesn't start getting games. Likewise with Dodd at the end of his contract. And I wouldn't blame them.

I think this is right and I hope he goes for Simm. Though he seems to prefer Welsby as first choice reserve for any position in the backs, regardless of who the other options are. I hope this week he will surprise us.

Sooner or later he's going to have to give Simm a go or we'll never see his potential. I agree that Welsby has had his best games at centre but I also don't see him in that position for the next 10 years. I think he'll have to up his game at stand off or full back

Exactly. Welsby won't be a long term centre and in the short term he isn't a better centre than Simm. So for me it makes no sense to play him there this week.

I think we will see Simm at centre tomorrow. Maybe Welsby for the bench?

I don’t think there’ll be a back on the bench. I think Welsby will play at centre but I’d sooner see Simm given another go. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have Dodd on the bench to cover scrum half with Fages spelling Robes but I don’t see that happening either.

It may depend on Coote’s fitness. He may well have Welsby on the bench in order to “spell” Coote if he’s not 100%. I would like Coote to have some game time before the cup tie.

I'd be surprised if he doesnt go with Welsby at centre.

Really looking forward to a few days of rugby. Should be some well contested games again this week on paper. Great to have Saints back and as much as I'd love to be able to go the game I'm looking forward to putting my feet up with a few cans tonight.

I think the reality is coaches see it as a safer option to play someone with more game experience in a back position than take a chance on a less experienced more specialist player. How else can you explain Dodd not getting more game time than he has?

Excellent finish that. Hopefully takes the wind out of the Hull KR sails early on. Cracking conversion as well!

Does Robert hicks look like Tom Hanks from Cast Away?

Hicks may have been living on a remote island since his nightmare performance in the challenge cup last year

Great try. Fages keeps it going and Welsby poaches one.

Welsby certainly knows how to be in the right spot when a potential try is on.

Welsby taking a leaf out of Coote’s book being on the shoulder of any line breaks. Brilliant from Theo, hope to see much more of that. Mention for the Lees offload as well, last year he wouldn’t have thrown that and we’d have lost our momentum.

And here comes the inevitable attempt to level things up from the ref.
