    Default Josh Dugan

Josh Dugan is rumoured to be available next season. Wages could be an issue though.

    "wages could be an issue"

Understatement of the year. He would be the highest paid in the league I'd say

I think one of the RL papers stated this on Twitter then mentioned at the end no SL clubs could afford him.
I think when he last moved clubs about 3 seasons ago he was at that time the highest paid player in the NRL

Outstanding player when fit, unfortunately he is very injury prone.

I think he’s over rated. He’s down on his knees every 10 minutes with a knock.

Brilliant player. Plays his heart out with no compromises for his own safety. As a result he does get injured quite often admittedly

I googled him earlier as I couldn't remember what position he played and read this article

This Packer lad looks a right unit.

Yes very serious conviction and jail time- not sure if a permit would be attainable.

Last night NRL 360 also talked about Bronco's issue with Darias Boyd's contract with the opinion they should be trying to " ship him off to Superleague"

Right, I clearly didn't read the article properly. Ah well, back to the drawing board.

Dugan for me looks like a player coming into his career “ sell by date”, I would imagine he would be looking for a 3 year deal which would be a Superleague club gamble of him giving value for money for just one season.

It really annoys me when they come out with things like that. Yes, we know it's a higher standard of competition but it's also like watching 16 versions of the same team playing the same game week after week.

It’s tough, it does come across patronising to superleague but I actually think it is based on an understanding of the contracts available in NRL - Boyd surely has a lot to offer as a league brain but not the legs ( at least to last him 3 years) NRL clubs won’t offer him long term pay and maybe his pride won’t see him taking a downgrade. Going to UK could be seen as a star player who can mentor others. By the way I don’t think that is what will happen, think he will maybe see out another year with Broncos then agree a mutually beneficial backroom job with them.
Having 2-3 hrs of NRL journalism on tv every night certainly gives good insights into how they see the game and the vast majority are actually very positive about Superleague.

I doubt Dugan or Packer would get a Visa given their criminal past so their only option would be Catalans. Dugan can't get through a game without getting injured and hasn't played well for about 3 years. Packer hasn't been the same player since being released form jail.

Reynolds would be a great signing for a SL club but a huge gamble given his poor injury record.

We could probably get a Packer from Haydock industrial estate to replace him.
