That brick building is the new electricity sub station.
On the Barr website it states following "Foundations now complete. Brickwork to super structure has started and is progressing well. Precast concrete roof slabs are due in early part of March. Building works progressing on programme."
Saw a little crane there on Saturday, but thought nothing of it as it looked a lot smaller than the large Ainscough type cranes at Salford.
There was also some work going on down Warrington road on saturday, as i found out when i decided to take a walk down there and ended up hearing machinery and saw a bloke in hi vis jacket looking at me rather suspiciously from afar.
These white bags could be soil from knowsley rd for the pitch as someone has already mentioned there are the same bags at knowsley rd
They said they where going to use the soil from kr a while ago I think we might see the pitch coming to shape too over the next few weeks
Just as they finish putting the girders up the webcams will probably come back on and then we'll all go woooooooooooo! It's disappointing not to be able to see what's going on at such a crucial stage in the build after watching from practically day one.
Working today on the old and new sub station.
Laydown / storage area for steelwork.
Filling in the old basement.
Had a look this morning, another large crane has arrived on site, it has John Sutch on the side, no steel erectors are on site as yet.
First steelwork has gone up on the Tesco Supermarket this afternoon, on the stadium side one of the large cranes is unloading metalwork, should imagine tomorrow will see a start.
I sent an e-mail to the new stadium website before, the e-mails go to Saints. I got a very quick and polite response which said that Barr are aware of the webcam issue and hope to have it fixed shortly.
WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF POOR BEN FLOWER?!
Steel work has been started on the stadium end. The excitement begins!
