Agreed he is a consistent performer.

With my Saints specs on, we seem to very scrappy when Walmsley and Knowles went off. Bateman doing OK though.

Don't think this ref should be doing internationals. Seems out of his depth

How does the ref manage to get Lomax and Farrell mixed up with the yellow card.

How a so called international centre can’t do the basics of drawing a man and passing to his winger I don’t know.

Just watching RL forum on BBC and noticed Knowles is on crutches in a boot hobbling around.
Humans are more concerned with having than being.

Hardaker was awful. On at least two ocassions in the first half a simple pass to Tommy Mak would've put him through to score, instead inexplicably Hardaker decided to keep the ball and cut inside to take the tackle! Davies also had a poor game, sure he scored a "Makinsonesque" try, however he bombed at least two. As has been observed by other posters, the England performance dipped whilst Alex was off the field and picked up again upon his return. Bateman did okay but with his temperament still not skipper material for me. Enjoyable watch and plenty to build on for Wane.

I thought Bateman was at fault for both the French tries, got beat at marker for the first then the howler for the second.

For what it’s worth, I thought Lomax was excellent. He was getting early ball to the right centre and wing with some effect and seemed to have more space to work than when he plays for us. The French didn’t seem to know that he should be the most closely marked player on the pitch.

    Enjoyable afternoon of Rugby.

    Both French sides showed grit.

Plenty for England to work on but for a squad with no NRL player's and only 3 day sessions , a scrappy win in France is always welcome.

On the Lomax sin-binning, what is the convention on owning up to committing the offence?

I think when you have a video referee this sort of thing should be an impossibility, a quick bit of communication and you dont see this happening.

I think the communication was with Gausch and the french ref, send a Saints player off.

Indeed. But I was wondering what the team convention would be. I’d have expected Farrell to own up if he had been in my workplace.

I don’t think it would be something that would be discussed, its such a rare thing, i cant think of it happening on a rugby pitch before. I would expect the person who did it to own up, but they mustnt do taking ownership in Wigan.

At the Club awards night his right leg was in a brace. He said it was a knee problem. He is the best centre in UK when fit. The two centres playing today showed how poor the back up is.
