I've always been under the thought process that you pick your best team and shouldn't really be trying to accommodate players.

Our most consistent selection this year has been:

Coote, Makinson, Naiqama, Percival, Grace, Lomax, Fages, Walmsley, Roby, Thompson, Peyroux, Taia, Knowles.
Subs: LMS, Lees, Paolo and Amor / Ashworth.

Changing that winning formula would be a bit strange for me unless there is a doubt to one of the half backs / Coote and therefore I don't see Richardson playing unless our 1, 6 or 7 are injured.

Given there's likely to be question marks on the fitness of Coote and Roby, I'd rather see whichever of Fages & Richardson who misses out, be on the bench.

    Weather's currently looking alright, too.

I've got a feeling Lees or Ashworth will miss out to use the last bench spot for one of them. Wonder if starting with Richardson and Coote will give us a bigger variety for kicking options.

Quite a bit may depend on Paulo and how bad his hammy injury is. Pretty sure Lees wont miss out

Could well be a bench of LMS, Lees and 2 from Amor, Ashworth and Bentley at the moment

I think Fages’ performances get played down an awful lot. He’s done some brilliant things for us this season and after the game, no-one mentions them. Richardson does something in a game and it gets spoken about for weeks. Find it slightly odd I’ve got to be honest.
With you all the way. Fages, Lomax and Coote are the reason we won the LLS by a street. I'm taking nothing away from the rest of the squad who have also been immense.

Hopefully whatever team is picked we are going full on to win tomorrow. We need a good tough run out before next week

Living near Leeds I always want us to smash the Rhinos, they were unbearable during our run of Grand Final losses. A couple of wins, a couple of signings and they've already started piping up again, lets hope we put a decent score on them, don't want them pulling too far away from the relegation fight.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

This does not make much sense to me.
As I recall Warrington scored only 2 tries one on either side.

Wakefield scored 1 try from a back rower.

London scored plenty all over the field but I don't see how that is attributed to Richardson.

So 3 tries in 2 games, one down Richardsons side is hardly sign of a change in defensive outcomes

An interesting test tonight of what a game with no kicker will look like.

If goal kickers were paramount we’d be rugby union

Its not just goal kicking. Kicks in general play come up nearly every set of 6

Struggling a bit through the middle at the minute defensively, lacking a bit of size as you’d expect with five forwards missing. Have to say though I’ve been really impressed with the attitude they’ve shown. Under the cosh at times but they’ve hung in there well and have thrown plenty at Leeds in attack. Could have had another couple of tries there had we been a bit more clinical. Kept creating opportunities and finding space which is really pleasing for me.

Obviously next week in the back of the mind and JH put the cue on the rack in the second half but a good win under the circumstances.

Thought Hurrell was a threat but also their weakness in defence. It's a long time since I've seen so many players with bellies in a team

Superb performance in the circumstances and gives us a good bit of impetus for the week ahead

Fages is twice the player than Richards. whose only strength is goal kicking . Made up tonite Holbrook thinks the same .

I think Fages put that argument to bed tonight.

My take is that we put out a 65% strength team of young players and competed hard, and blew them away for 15-20 minutes then had a rest, and the score line flattered them. Briscoe’s freakish offload was a one in a thousand chance, and with 20s left we should have taken the two just for the hell of it.

Hurrell and Handley are their only threats.
Can't stop the spirits when they need you.

This life is more than just a read through.

Really good, professional performance. Missing half a dozen players, and those playing will have inevitably had one eye on next week. Leeds will have viewed this as an ideal time to meet us.

    Great effort.

Everyone in my house commented the same.

Certainly Hurrell looks great going forward but is regularly wrong footed in defense.

Just to add I wonder if the guy that said we should drop Naiqama for Bentley has changed his mind after tonite .

I've said it about Naiqama before but he reminds me of Kevin Iro. He can be average for large parts but then he'll come alive and destroy teams. Quality player when he's on it.
