thought Dodd, particularly his kicking , was awful tonight. Needs to improve on that display in the next game( if he is selected)

No, by strict Warrington law, Salford have to beat Wire to take all our trophies. Pretty much the same rules as conkers.

Have to say really proud of the young lads.

3 huge huge incorrect calls from the ref which resulted in salford scoring so feel the lads can feel a little aggreived.

Sam royle looked real good as did the young full back. Not 1 player had a bad game. Can all be proud of tonight

Thought the pitch invasion at the end was a discrace. Adults lifting kids over onto the pitch was just wrong. Dont clubs get fined for pitch invasions?

So Salford beat a team full of kids and their fans invade the pitch to celebrate? What a bunch of amateurs.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

Ah right, so that was the semi hyper final super eliminator magic round then?

So I assume Sky had the cup/trophy/shield in a helicopter hovering over?

Clueless commentator. Doesn’t come across as if he cares about the game, seems to have no knowledge.

Say what you want about Eddie, Stevo, Carney, Baz, Tez and Phil Clarke’s opinions and styles but there is no doubt that these guys adore the game and are still deeply entrenched within the game and the teams (amateur and professional)

Jon Wells is a nob though :-)

Not one but 2 pitch invasions ! Must be a fine incoming for that surely. Saints team taken straight off the field at the end. Quite ridiculous by Salford
Thought our lads did well, once Salford started offloading in the 2nd half we couldn't cope, I thought it was very poor by Woolf that we had the fullback Bettinson (sp) kicking off who couldn't get the ball further than their 30. They were in our half on tackle 2 or 3 every set. Dodd should have been kicking off.
Grace worked his socks off trying to cover for a very narrow defence by us, they had loads of room on the wings which they used well 2nd half. Don't recall Amor coming back on, didn't see him get injured though. His thigh was heavily strapped after his dead leg against Leeds was It?

To be fair, it was their kids doing the invading. Made me feel a little nostalgic!

Regarding Griffiths, was that collar to stop him barking?

he looked absolutely ridiculous with that on. Another great RFL innovation.

I'll second this and yes - Royle was deservedly voted Saints man of the match. The future's looking good!

Was it a voice amplifier, on the saints TV there is no commentary just background noise and the ref shouting out loads of instructions with odd explanations of his decisions.

Just watching the highlights from last night - some great kicking from the youngster Martyn.

Embarrassing for Salford - celebrating like they had won the Grand Final - rather than narrowly avoiding the wooden spoon.

We’ll done Saints kids - our future looks good.

It was to develop a VR video to be used to highlight the difficulties of being a ref, the perspective of decision making and hopefully reduce the abuse.

What did we make of Norman on Friday ?

I thought he carried the ball strongly & made good yards. Couldn't manage to keep an eye on him in defence unfortunately.

I honestly didn’t notice Norman, but I thought Wingfield stood out. I thought he was poor last time out, but he stood up as one of the more experienced players against Salford. Grace showed what he is capable of with a bit of early ball.

Have to say I was disappointed with Wingfield.

Drops the ball coming off our line with 1 minute left of the first half which leads to 14-10 rather than 14-4 at the break and then second half another similar error led to a try. Think he made 3 in total.

Stats suggest he carried it well though, 12 carries for 79 metres. so 7 a carry.

He did make a couple of mistakes but seemed to get through a lot of tackling.

Still very much Work in Progress the main positive he gets involved and does a lot of work, the drop passes and missed tackles will gradually be less with experience. Seems to be somewhere in between a Matty Lees and a Morgan Knowles, Woolf rates him for his ball handling skills but it wasn't a game to show those attributes. We probably need to show a bit of patience and let him grow into the team structure.

    Yeah for sure.

Was more just in terms of that game that about him in general.

Next year will be a big year for him with plenty games I'd imagine.

He created what must be a record : He made 2 tackles in the 80-odd mins.

That, I'm sorry to say must be incorrect. Dodd made lots of tackles during the game, as he does every game, he gets picked out due to his size, he did his share as always.

That was for the first 8 mins not the 80 mins he made 11 tackles in the game. However that no. of tackles is way below his usual stat usually makes 25+ tackles.

12 months isn't a long time for a head coach of a club that has been losing their best players for a couple of years, seems a bit harsh.
