    Default Stripping the ball

What do folks think of the stripping rule? Barrie Mc raised the issue on Sky in terms of pros and cons. I noticed that Cas and Hull seem to be trying to do this more than other teams so I assume they must be practising it in training. Could create some controversy if it happens early in the tackle count and it results in a score later in the set.
Good example in the Hull v Salford game. Lolohea appears to time a strip perfectly but the ref gives a penalty and Hull go on to score!
    Thoughts?

I think interpretation of the current/recent stripping rules is problematic and places an unnecessary strain on the officials in trying to judge issues such as how many players were involved in the tackle at the time of the strip or did the attacker merely lose/let go of the ball. I’d prefer to go back in time to when any number of defenders could seek to strip the ball until the referee shouted “held”, thereby removing any possible advantage to the attacker of a loose carry. Bring back “Clinch the pinch”!

I thought that was ok under the current rules but I can understand the ref's call. Personally I don't think there was any reason to change it but since when has that stopped the powers that be?

I don’t like it. It’s not a skill I admire plus it is open to so much cheating and controversy.

Its just another RFL tinkering obsession which will introduce even more inconsistency from the referee on how they see it and apply correctly.

It was certainly part of the NRL game last year, seen it quite often in games. I suppose it was only a matter of time before we incorporated it over here too.

Do you think playing the game on the back of a Kangaroo will ever take off, becoming a Kangaroo breeder could make us a £millionaire by this time next year.
On the Back foot looking for the front one.
