Interesting read particularly about the club's role in the community.

There is no doubt Eamonn is a terrific guy and I hope & pray his plans come to fruition .
The short video of Church St . really is depressing . To be one of the towns with the most
suicides is dreadful . I hope everyone in the town backs Eamonn 100% .

We have a great man at the helm and we should give him and the club what support we can. Saints are more than just a rugby club.

I live inOldham and I wish we had someone in the town with the best interests of the area at heart.

As a Saint I’m proud of Eamon but as a native of Oldham I’m jealous......

I saw the chairman in the new(ish) Sherdley Park golf club restaurant not long before the Huddersfield game last week. I wanted to say to him that I supported his comments and was behind him 100% but thought it was a bit cringey so didn't. I did think it though so that counts I suppose

That restaurant is the type of thing that the town should support, people putting their money in and developing something we can be can proud of. I hope investors see that along with what Eamonn is doing and want to bring some more funding to St Helens

(although some people, instead of getting behind the golf course, thought it would be fun to steal the golf carts and play Mario Kart with them causing thousands of pounds worth of damage)

Let's hope not. That old building was, quite frankly, disgusting before the renovation. The new restaurant / shop is superb, although sometimes I can't even get on the car park to play golf it's that busy

As chair of the economy board he is in position to make a difference together with like minded people. The town needs this commitment because the Council will not take a lead. It will take time but at least he's moving things in the right direction.

I think comments like this are why I don’t really go to games anymore. Maybe it’s just me, probably is, but I don’t like it. Cringeworthy for me.

Yeah mate it’s been a gradual thing, probably since the Salford game a few years ago when people around me were booing Paul Wellens when his name was read out. Didn’t even go to Wembley.

I understand. Really debating myself whether to bother next season. Might try away games only

I know that feeling although I'm hoping to get to more games next year and give it another go. I quite enjoyed the Cas game a couple of weeks ago even though it was pretty dour.

Not only that, they've won more championships than them. As have those other RL giants of Swinton and Halifax.

Ah yes, I forget. Warrington are the 11th most successful club in Rugby League history. The way their fans go on, you’d think they’d dominated.

Hey wankey wankey, wankey wankey wankey wankey Warrington....

Living in Leeds Fridays are just a killer for me to get to games. But I do find that catching the odd game live can be more enjoyable than it was when I went week in week out due to the routine.

I think as you get older other things replace the sheer tribalism of sport. I know when my dad had kids he stopped attending as often. Same with myself, but always keep and interest and the bug starts to come back.
