    Default Westerman

Not sure if there is a thread on this already but didn't see one

Only listened to the game on the radio yesterday but it sounded like he ripped us apart throughout the game.

Does anyone who went to the game have any comments. Was he as awesome as it was made out on the radio or did our left side defence make him look like a world-beater?

He ran through Tyrer and Meli on a number of occaisions. Don't think he'd have skinned Talau as badly though.

He is a good player though!

no doubt a very good player, however tyrer made him look a world-beater.. still very early in his career, so he still may not make it.. if he knuckles down thogh, there's every chance he can be a cracking player in the future

Definately has the potential to play for GB in the fuutre. A talented young prospect who would not look out of place wearing the red vee.

Can we swap him for Meli and a packet of pork scratchings?
“It's been 31 years, since 1974, we last won a major (trophy and) Andrew Johns and Natty (Nathan Wood), our two oldest players were born in 1974 so it's a little bit spooky,”

There is a common trait in teams at this point in the season that they seem to sit back and wait for somebody to win the game for them. And we had too many of our players waiting for someone to win the game.”

    "interfacing at the ruck"

    "winning the go-forward"

"i thought we won the collision"

Looked good but who wouldn't have done!

The performance of our left side enabled him to stand out.

one run he made,he left tyrer and meli watching him, turned wellens and beat him but failed to pass to a supporting player, certain try missed.another fine run which led to a try was off a suspect pass.a great prospect, but unfortunetly,as st bert says, the opposition let him have a field day.

Not taking anything away from Westerman, he had a great game, but it was the angled runs from the fullback McGoldrick who changed the direction of their attack to our lefthand side that was doing the damage. Looking down the pitch from behind the sticks when McGoldrick and Westerman linked up we were at panic stations.

I've said we should sign him for next season since the beginning of this season, he would be great in the RedVee. Young, fast, can kick goals make breaks, the list is endless.

    Get him signed!

We can't afford him. End of story.

Westerman is still at the beginning of his SL career, however I saw him a few times last season and thought he showed a lot of potential and promise; not seen or heard anything this season to change that view. He looked even better yesterday because we didn't stop him but who's to say we would've kept him quiet for the whole match anyway?

Be interesting to watch how he goes over the next couple of years. Would be happy to see him in the red vee.

I thought he had a great game. I was impressed with young Huby also.
