Maybe its because you seem to have such luck when playing in Europe. A stonewall penalty turned down and a goal bound shot blocked by his own teams player. Men sent off in each of previous last round, and battered last night yet a flukey away goal. I hope they batter you at Anfield

I seem to remember him defending Mascherano to the point of tears

I believe he actually said 'All he said was what's happening? What's happening? He just run 40 yards to make that point!'

After his backing of the fouled mouthed Goofy, you have got to be kidding!

After this any little bit of credability for you regarding sensible football comment has well and truely gone out of the window. lol

Okay, will clarify. Not so much the goal, but the context it was scored in i.e against the run of play.

Oh and some need to have a pop at Ronaldo for diving when Torres threw himself to the floor all night

Hey jack you've been reading too many Lee Child books.

I didn't realise you weren't allowed to score against the run of play. If its 1-1 at anfield I just hope we can play to fergie time and score in the 50th minute of injury time

As I have said before, when there is injury time, both sides have the opportunity to score, not just Utd. I was just stating that IMO you were outplayed last night and yet are somehow in the driving seat for the return leg. Just hope your good fortune in Europe runs out at some point

Liverpool still playing 70's football, that's why they have been so successfull in Europe, win at home, smash and grab away, fortunately for the Premier League, 1 point away from home is no good anymore.

God bless the back pass rule lol

Its not usual for me to make a comment about football as my interest is passing at best - i followed Liverpool as a boy before i got interested in rugby, I still watch matches but can't say allegences are strong at all.

But people calling Andy Gray anti Liverpool must be having a giraffe

One of SKY's adverts for the CL and HD has the sound track of "OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU BEAUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTYYYYYY" by Mr Gray regarding Steven Gerrards last minute goal that fired Liverpool through and on course to winning in Istanbul - hardly disparaging comments.

He defended Mascherano albeit fair enough regarding the incident as it was a bit of a joke (but who should have seen red much earlier if Bennett had stuck by the rules properly)

    Ironic coming from you.

Everything you write is a tirade of bitterness towards either Everton or Man U. I wouldnt mind, Evertonians at least have an excuse for being a bit bitter.....whats yours?

I can see your point as Liverpool haven't half been lucky in europe since Rafa took over...

But you also can't deny that during the course of Utd's domestic successes (and their 1999 CL) they had some large slices of luck on the way be it an own goal here or a deflected shot there - or more frequently a miss hit shot falling straight to the feet of an attacker - every team has to have some luck to be successful

The injury time thing is right though - its there for both teams and only Utd and Chelsea (and this season Sunderland) seem to attack it

Good post but please dont refer to Utd as Man U Reminds me of bandwagon jumping southerners who support Utd because its fashionable to do so.

Dear oh Dear..........all these United fans are so sensitive.Liverpool have lost as many finals as United have won in the European Cup/CL........This is the result business now.
When was the last time United were in a final.......2000 was it and if I recall correctly they were the jammiest/luckiest b**** on that occasion and should have lost by a street.

And another thing Mascherano would'nt have been sent off if he was a United or Chelsea player because the referee would have been surrounded by so many whingers he would'nt have known who to send off.
As for last night it was up to Arsenal to achieve and they did'nt...still only half time.

Can't see anyone beating Utd for the CL, having said all that,it's certainly there's to lose but with Fergie's European record they may not even get passed Barcelona.
Rafa's European record is much better in terms of pots won....so play all the fancy football you like.

Here we go, proper banter bring it on!! It was actually 99 the year of our Treble not 2000 and en route to the final, we played Barcelona twice, Bayern Munich three times , Inter Milan twice and Juventus twice, never losing a game. Unbeaten the whole competition.

We were lucky when it came to injuries admittedly, we had a good run but sheer quality shone through that season. It culminated in a CL win which clinched a proper treble and not the p*** poor "treble" that Liverpool fans were quoting when they won the Fizzy pop trophy as well as the UEFA cup against some big European giant.

Our treble was a worthy achievement. And Liverpool have only won the European Cup since Utd have won it anyway.

Sure it is, another scouse myth you lot like to peddle.

I think Benitez has 1 UEFA Cup and 1 CL

Ferguson has 2 ECWC and 1 CL

I'm bored of all this b*llocks!

I've changed this thread to the football chat thread. You can moan all you like about your back passes and your Manchester United 'Utd' crap in here. This will then stop a lot of you from ruining other threads.

    Enjoy.

Andy Gray is far more anti Liverpool than Stevo is pro Yorkshire. What do you expect from an ex Everton player? Though he does love Gerrard, but that's probably because he's a current Golden Child of the English game, and if there's a bandwagon to jump on he'll be on it quick as a flash.

I thought him calling Yakubu 'The Yak' throughout the derby game little more than embarrassing. For a fan to do it, fine, but a commentator? It shows a lack of professionalism and exposes him for the bitter blue b*st*rd that he is

20 plus years and that's his record in Europe....brilliant is'nt it lol lol lol
