According to yesterday's Sunday People Potter is the favourite to succeed DA at the end of the year and we expect Roby Wellens and Pryce to sign new contracts in the near future.
All good news imo.:

Mick Potter of the Catalan Dragons? Hmmm . . not someone that sets the tastebuds tingling I must admit.
That is what was said when Ian Millward was first mentioned.

Our recent choice of coach under Eammon McManus has been first class so I think we don't need to worry too much.I am sure he will make a good choice so long as the current back room staff are all retained can't see a problem.

The most successful Rugby League Club in the world deserves only the best in my opinion
I am sure that most SL managers would jump at the chance to manage saints, but i don't think most are them are up to the task. Mick Potter, not certain he could bring anything.
me and you could coach saints and finish top six
That's why you won't get the job and Mick Potter just might.Originally Posted by peter soutos tash

From RLCM in Aus:
"WAYNE BENNETT'S position at the Broncos is becoming increasingly untenable, while the appointment of former Brisbane captain, Gorden Tallis to the board of the Cowboys, has blocked any remote chance of the six-times premiership coach moving to Townsville.
Cowboys chief executive Peter Parr, aware a small lobby of Townsville fans want Bennett, moved swiftly on Monday, advising board members of the impending announcement of Tallis's appointment. Bennett and Tallis have fallen out since the retirement of the pugnacious but straight talking second-rower.
Tallis is also a member of the NRL board and sits on the six person body as an appointee of News Ltd, half owners of the NRL. He was recommended to the post by News Ltd heir Lachlan Murdoch, a passionate Broncos fan.
Murdoch was also a champion of Bennett but the publication in News Ltd papers of Bennett's secret payments from a wealthy benefactor imply the 57-year-old coach no longer enjoys Lachlan's protection. Bennett's death warrant at the Broncos was signed the day it was revealed he had entered into a clandestine arrangement with Roosters chairman Nick Politis to coach the Sydney club.
He won his sixth premiership a month later but was still required to front the Broncos board, who made it clear he must leave the club at the end of 2009.
Relations with directors have soured since then, with the board forced to carry out its own inquiry into rumours Bennett was planning to head north to Townsville.
News Ltd executive Peter Jourdain, a member of the Broncos board, checked it out with Cowboys chairman Laurence Lancini and Parr and was assured they had no plans to move on Bennett.
The subsequent appointment of Tallis to the Cowboys board guarantees this. Although News Ltd no longer owns the Townsville-based team, having sold the franchise to the Cowboys Leagues Club, it still maintains an influence at board level. Bennett's future may be in New Zealand, where officials were impressed with his coaching of the All Golds on their recent tour of England.
"The Kiwis will pick him up," one of the Thoroughbreds, a group of wealthy Broncos benefactors, said. "They are even considering removing the rule which stipulates the Kiwi coach must be a resident of New Zealand, in order to accommodate Wayne." (The NZRL introduced the residency rule in order to block former Kiwi halfback Gary Freeman, who is based in Sydney).
Bennett's immediate future with the Broncos must be uncertain. News Ltd, which owns 67 per cent of the shares in the publicly listed company, doesn't want him. Club chief executive Bruno Cullen is finding it increasingly difficult to work with Bennett, the club's only coach in its 20-year history.
The Broncos board, all News Ltd appointees, fear Bennett is too close to the Thoroughbreds, who are keen to buy the club.
Bennett's admission he accepted a $1m payment over 10 years from a Thoroughbred benefactor, Ken Talbot, will anger past and present Broncos players, some of whom have accepted - at Bennett's behest - less money to remain with the club.
International prop Petero Civoniceva has moved to Penrith for less money than the Broncos could pay under salary cap constraints.
Bennett's relationship with past captains, other than Tallis, has also deteriorated and former Broncos prop Andrew Gee has moved from the post of football manager to a commercial position in the club where he is distanced from Bennett.
Bennett also was forced to sack three club greats, Gary Belcher, Glenn Lazarus and Kevin Walters, as assistant coaches.
Bennett's $980,000 package from the Broncos included paying the salaries of his assistants.
The publication in News Ltd papers of Bennett's financial dealings with Talbot, who has been charged with bribing a former Queensland Government minister, will embarrass the former Queensland Father of the Year who turns 58 on New Year's day.
Bennett is anxious to provide disabled facilities at both his Brisbane home and Warwick farm for his intellectually disadvantaged son and physically disadvantaged daughter, ensuring they are cared for when he retires.
Should Bennett leave the Broncos, the club won't get their preferred choice for possibly three years. Cullen admires Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy, a former assistant of Bennett in Brisbane. However, the premiership coach is expected to remain with the Storm until its new stadium opens in 2010, unless News Ltd, owner of both clubs, convince Bellamy he should move north to rescue Lachlan's team."
A few telling facts there, probably putting an end to the 'Bennett for Saints' bandwagon. Interesting stuff though.
Can we just hop back to a post on 10th Sept:

There is a common trait in teams at this point in the season that they seem to sit back and wait for somebody to win the game for them. And we had too many of our players waiting for someone to win the game.
"interfacing at the ruck"
"winning the go-forward"
