National League club Doncaster Lakers have called an emergency board meeting following the shock resignation of coach John Stankevitch.
The former St Helens and Widnes forward, who was appointed in the summer, quit his post at the Keepmoat Stadium on Thursday and is expected to return to the Vikings as assistant coach to Steve McCormack.
Doncaster chief executive Steve Miller confirmed Stankevitch had left the club, citing personal reasons for his decision.
Meanwhile, former Everton, Leeds and Doncaster footballer Ian Snodin has joined the Lakers' backroom staff, working alongside commercial director Tony Hannan.
