Ian Knott Benefit Dinner 16th June.
IAN KNOTT BENEFIT DINNER
SATURDAY 16th JUNE HALLIWELL JONES STADIUM
1900 - 1930 Start.
Ian Knott is one of many talented players produced by the amateur scene in Oldham. Ian came through the ranks at the Watershead amateur club and was snapped up by Warrington as a youngster along with the likes of Paul Sculthorpe and Iestyn Harris. Knotty spent nine years at Warrington followed by two seasons at Wakefield and then two with Leigh Centurions. He played a key role in helping Leigh Centurions win the 2004 LHF National League one Grand Final and a place in Super League.
A back injury sustained whilst playing prematurely ended Ians career just two years ago. Ian has since had several operations to remove or repair damaged discs in his spine. He is now unable to walk without the aid of a stick and cannot manage more than a few yards without suffering severe pain. Regularly medication is all that prevents Ian from being completely immobilised, his condition is only going to deteriorate.
To raise money for Ian's plight a benefit dinner has been arranged on the above date at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, you will receive the following
A Glass of Wine on Arrival
