    Default Hull FC

How on earth have Hull fc managed to get castore on board. A massive global brand who supply some of the biggest teams in the world and we are stuck with oneils. I understand its about who you can attract in a struggling sport but surely we can do better. Even oxen look like they make decent quality shirts.

Castore are trying to get anyone and everyone on board at the minute. Their recent press over football shirts isn't great, but not heard any murmurings from their deals in the NRL or indeed Union. Is the O'Neill's deal a rolling contract as there doesn't seem to be any detail about it other than last year was the 11th year. A new supplier has it's pros and cons but seems like everyone else has changed in the last few years. Leeds to Oxen, Leigh from O'Neills to Ellgren to now Patrick. The pies from hummel to kappa.

I'm sure I heard the O'Neils deal is up end of next year. Not certain tho. I feel its time for a change now. O'Neils quality isn't good enough.

I'd never heard of Castore until I saw the announcement. Agree we are due a change though.

You're right, it's crap. I'm a big fan of castore since the wife bought me a golf top last year. It's well made, nice fitting and looks good IMO.

Yeah, definitely feels tired and there's only so many designs the same team can come up with around a red vee. A new design team could mix things up and would almost certainly boost sales. Gone are the days of big names like Puma, Mizuno etc

They started out a few years ago and got Andy Murray on board. They have had a bit of a scatter gun approach but have pulled in some big names in various sports across the globe. I am sure the big boys (Adidas, Nike etc) will try and run them out of town though.

Same here didn't know they existed. Checked the website all the gear looks expensive between £40 to £70 for a T shirt and tops around the £90 mark. If we got them onboard how much for a replica shirt...........£70 to £80 maybe.

I've moaned about O'Neils for years but I'm not at all confident Saints will go to anyone else.
Be a welcome change if they do though.

I think Saints are due some kind of radical design for a couple of years, maybe a modern version of the 1997 chequered type one always makes going back to the traditional redvee more impactful

You'll probably find that's it's better quality tho. I'd be prepared to pay a bit more if that was the case.

I've said for years we need to make a modern variation of the 1997 shirt. Would love saints to just mix it up a little.

Castore aren't anything special, they just know how to work a market. Started out on the Wirral just a few years ago I think

O'Neills are actually the bigger company

Definitely, a curveball shirt and then a clean and simple Red V the year after will just add some excitement to the launches! Most other clubs mix it up somehow, although the Rhinos shirt for next year just looks weird!

Type in any search engine Castore shirt problems and you will see the quality.

I wasn't advocating Castore, just a change from O'Neill's - I'd already mentioned earlier about their issues with Football shirts - but haven't heard any similar noises from the likes of the Storm or Roosters, or Bath/ Saracens in RU ..

Castore sponsor Tommy Makinson I think (he is always posting on instagram when he gets packages from them) so maybe they will try for us when our O'Neills contract is up.

Although I am not sure I am too fussed over who makes our kit anymore. They are all the same every year and I am sure the club have a huge hand in it so I am not sure much will change.

    Hull shirts are £53.

They've also made two shirts that pretty much guarantee a colour clash at some point this year.

Castore stuff is nice, but I know their England Cricket training tops are expensive

I think they're originally from the Wirral

I thought the same. Their home and away aren't all that different. They will probably bring out a 3rd kit.

I've never had issues with the quality re the O'Neills shirts. The first shirt they brought out wasn't a great fit, tight around the head when pulling it on, but a tent when on! Aside from that and some "safe" designs, I like them. I compare that with my England shirt of two years back by Oxen and its awful. The arms are baggy end again its a tight fit over the head. I prefer an embroidered badge, but some of the O'Neills shirts are embroidered.

No, but her moaning has done it wonders.
