I'm absolutely gutted but not bitter. Our lads kill for our badge. One I am annoyed at and rightly so is Barrie's commentating. He is an absolute idiot along with Carney

Along with the abuse aimed at Tomkins on the match thread for having the audacity of scoring a winning try, this place really is a cesspit.

Ironic he mentioned Paul Sironen, last night. The guy who's jaw he broke in one of the worst "assaults" ever seen on a RL field.

Just to show that TV people can be different Jamie Jones Buchanan last noght after the mattch said about Saints , them winning four in succession is a very good thing and he said Wigan did it but in those days Wigan was the only full time professional team and he said thet with Phill Clarke at the side of him and made no comment.

I'm not usually one for calling commentators biased, but his input last night was very much just that

We'll eff off out of it then, easy.......

Perhaps you should be escorted to the exit door

Jamie Jones Buchanan also said " how will the teams cope when they have pins and needles in every orifice" his rugby league experience seems to be very different to mine and everyone I played with.

Was it as bad as the abuse Tomkins and his mug brother aimed at a barmaid? Stay on your Crust Munchers site and wallow in the tremendous success you've had for the last four or so years.

Tbh every RL fan and pundit would've been desperate for Saints not to make it 5 in a row as its not good for the game but please take a moment to enjoy how it must have stuck in the throat of all of RL watching our success.

The one he did on Shiels was worse.

    But that was up there

That was a bad one, remember him sat across Shiels chest throwing punches GBH style.

Joel T just came across as a thug and should have been prosecuted. Sam T just a drunken idiot that couldn’t control an even drunker brother.

It was loutish behaviour by a couple of drunks with over inflated egos but I don’t think Joel Tomkins behaved like a thug, i.e. violently. I thought the female bar staff handled the situation well. Wigan have failed to get rid of players in the past who have behaved worse but a video of the incident all over social media didn’t help the brothers. If his TV appearances are anything to go by, I think Sam Tomkins has grown up a lot since then.

I agree that the staff handled it well. I don’t agree that he did not act like a thug. Though he did not physically assault the barmaid, he subjected her to a level of abuse and threatening behaviour that no woman should have to suffer for just doing their job.

It’s a long time since I’ve looked at the video and you may be right but I thought there was something of an over reaction to it at the time and I think I said so on here. I think JT was demanding another drink when he was already drunk and went behind the bar to get one. If my memory serves me well the bar staff did what the police used to call “jollying” someone along and he eventually left. I’ve defended the odd thug in the past and JT probably wouldn’t have been charged if the police had been called and if he had been arrested it would have been for behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace. My view of the incident is down to my own experience and I know that I’m probably out of step with the general consensus.

Yes I thought it was clear that he wanted a Catalans win, which really is poor form for a commentator who is meant to commentate on the game.

He was very critical of the Johnstone no try decision (although Johnstone had used two hands to push Lomax in the back) and then 2 minutes later when Lomax pushed Tomkins with just as much force after he had passed the ball he was saying that it was a definite penalty.

Very confused, but just sums up the sky commentary team, which save for Brian Carney and Jon Wilkin, is boring and poor.

Like you it’s a long time since I have seen it. It’s just that I thought at the the time, it seemed very aggressive and someone else has just mentioned it. Anyway too long ago to go looking for it.

At the time I thought they’d been treated harshly compared to others but I’m probably too liberal about such matters.
