But that was abysmal by Saints.
He's not the Messiah, he's a naughty boy.
Missed what happened with that injured Hull player. Are any of our chaps in trub?

Couple of howlers from Lomax and Welsby. Both scored a try too.
Wasn't the best game. I'd say Saints did enough without raising the intensity needed in the coming games.
Not sure if LMS makes the team which would be harsh..
Moses.. I'm not sold yet
Percival (is he left handed)
Had a walk in pass to the left and chose to throw a left to right pass and bombed it.

I thought it was a legit big hit with the Hull injury.. but I'm dreading the outcome. I hope with the video refs at every game we also get to have the screen at every game. Don't half miss replays when it's not there

Sloppy performance especially from our pivotal players, our line speed wasn't at its best. Typical uninspiring game when you play the bottom clubs, nice to see Walmsley firing into the defence without any hesitation.
Think I would prefer Bell playing at loose forward, linkd the forwards to the backs and less predictable to the opposition.
Just back from game.
Weird game. Some good tries but some shambolic play as well. I’m now convinced we can’t play against poor teams we just fall to their level. That said Jack was good and crap in equal measure. Percy was great apart from that walk in try had he passed. I get this was AL’s first game back but I’m not sure he should play next week. He’s leggy and did his regulation one bad play the ball and one dropped ball.
I think we should stick with who played v Wire. Wello made some weird interchanges which didn’t help.
Humans are more concerned with having than being.
Your asking a team to play above the level they have played all season to even get to a final. I just don’t see it.
Played in 2nd gear tonight. Defended well for most of the game, attack once again not clicking. Its just about winning from here, doesn't matter how we do it. The defence is key for us.
Great to see Walmsley and the others back tonight. Walmsley certainly looked fine and felt no effects of the injury. He's a huge boost for us going into the Play Offs. The bench looked to have more punch tonight and Hurrell and Hopoate will both be happy to get 80 under their belt. Bell will be back next week to give us a bit more intensity.

Deleney I think
And yes Bell is missed when he isn't at 13.
With the lack of ideas in attack we desperately need him there for as many minutes as possible
I'm thinking it's a risk playing big Al in the playoffs too..
Who does he replace with Bell back in?

I feel really flat about it all tonight now... I suppose we are only in the same position we were this morning, maybe I thought Leigh may have won but I've watched some of that game since some shocking lying on and slowing down PTB from Wigan. Is it all geared up for a Wigan GF win now with us having a tough route? Or am I just being pessimistic ?
We didn't finish third due to last night, we finish third due to issues over the season, but that's sport.. the hammering at Hull was probably a bigger factor on not only the two points, but the points difference.
If it's gearing for a Wigan win, well the playoffs system works. They've probably got Hull KR in a fortnight (hopefully not Warrington) they'll have to play well to beat Hull KR who are in a decent bit of form having lost one since Wembley.
We have to stop feeling sorry for ourselves - we've been dreadful in attack all year and now we're only Paasi missing. I dare say our attack isn't good enough, so we're going to have to defend for our lives to beat Warrington, beat Catalans, then beat Wigan.. if we don't win it, there's no great conspiracy - we've just not been good enough..
If we do it'll be the best of the five
The handling conditions were terrible, but what concerned me (and has done all year) is the lack of creativity in attack.
The attack wasn't great and hasn't be all season, but the positives is we scored 30pts and probably blew 3 tries by picking the wrong options when we made breaks. We need to sort that out for the play offs, as chances will be hard to come by. Also worth pointing out in 2020 and 2021 we won the finals due to our defence, not our attack so as long as we can nail that, we give ourselves a chance. It'll be a tough and we'll need some luck but nobody will want to face us.

Hurrell looked fatter than usual from his month long lay off and although Hopoate played OK he didn't look match fit, happy with Walmsley's 3 stints. Thought Welsby and Lomax played a bit hot and cold, Hull didn't make it easy managed to put players in the way to create confusion on the next pass when we managed a few line breaks. Percival made one poor decision but overall he was outstanding in last night game and is in good form now at the right time.
The Warrington game is obviously the big test, we don't need any more injuries and suspensions. Its only the 3rd time we have had a near full strength team this season and in one of those 3 games we put 34pts onto the Wigoons.
