Has announced his retirement. Seems to have been around forever but actually only 30, had a decent career in the end despite losing a couple of years to his stint in union. Wonder how he would have done if he stayed with us?

Hard to say as he was a bang average centre for us but bulked up during his brief union stint and came back as a really strong running 2nd row with a good offload game. If he’d stayed at Saints he probably doesn’t develop into the player he was at Salford. What he should have done is come back to us instead of going to Hull, the club where promising careers go to die. Best of luck to him in his next venture and fingers crossed that he doesn’t have any lasting concussion damage.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.
The trouble was that when he played centre he was a nightmare for his winger on defensive reads, he was much better in the pack, strange in a way because he started out as a scrun half.
Didn't realise he had long term concussion problems hope he manages to find something outside of rugby league.
Think it’s a brave decision from Jones to retire - obviously on medical advice following his long term concussion problems.
I agree that he probably would have developed into the player he became at Salford - if he had stayed with Saints.
Jones, like James Roby, sees rugby as a job and doesn’t allow the sport to overtake his private family life.
Think he’s had a decent and varied career and wish him all the best for the future.
