“ I was only saying good try sir” what a character. I remember when Widnes had Jim Mills, Kurt Sorensen and Brian Hogan as Props. It seemed one of the three was always banned, with the next one being banned as the first returned.

Did they do bans in those days? I can remember back to around the Arkwright/Pinner days and I don't remember ever worrying that players would be out. Or did you just have to commit attempted murder in those days to cop a ban?

Usually only one or two games.

First time I remember a player getting long ban was when they first decided to clamp down on high tackles and Shane Cooper got 6 matches

After the incident I mentioned, Mills was banned for the rest of the season. I think that the ban was overturned 3-4 months later. The NZ RL banned him for life, and that ban stayed in place.
