Default Two to go - where do we finish?

    Saints:
Warrington A - tough game, depends a lot on the attitude of Warrington, who need to keep winning to finish top six, but also have eyes on top four if a Leigh lose a game
Hull H - Hopefully they're already on their holidays (their result tonight suggests they may)

    Wigan:
Leeds A - like Warrington depends on their attitude.
Cas H - You'd suggest Cas are all but safe, Wakefield at least aren't playing before else they'd have already been on holiday
Leigh A - this is another where other results impact, if Hull KR and wire lose next week this would be a dead rubber (presuming Leigh beat wakey)

    Catalans:
Leeds H: if Leeds lose today, season as good as over. And definitely over if wire win.
Salford A: luckily still fighting for top six, but as good as done if they lose to wire on Saturday

I think I've got that right, we definitely need a Leeds win today though

The table is very interesting at present with PD separating the top 3.

I guess we want to know if we win our last 2 what does that get us.

I would guess that if we beat Wire and put a decent score on Hull FC who seem to have given up, we should expect to get to at least second instead of Catalans. Catalans are a bit wobbly but both are tricky games that you wouldn't expect them to win by a big score.

Wigan you feel should win their last 3 games. Leeds need to win today but aren't great and Leigh may have 4th stitched up by the last round so may play the kids for that one.
I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong.

Given the aggression they put into last night, if they do that then I'll flip.

I reckon so would many of their supporters, who despise the scum

But Lam seems to have a visceral hatred towards us, so wouldn't rule out him doing that just to spite us and stop us potentially getting top.

Well Wigan have won today already and will probably increase their points difference even further.

Leeds meekly surrendering to the scum.

Most probably third, Leeds aren't putting much opposition to Wigan today.

Barring a fluke turnaround Wigan are going to win and add another 20 to 30 points to their points difference

We cost him his Wigan job, but I think he'll want that Wigan scalp more than anything .. look what you let go... I can forge a team that'll beat the top 3.... that's his OM.

For a club the size and tradition of Leeds to end up way outside the top 6 must be so disappointing. Especially when you think that Leigh, HKR and Salford have totally outperformed them this season with much more limited budget and squad size. Along with Watson at Huddersfield I would expect Smith to be sacrificed.

Don't know whats going on between Hethrington and Smith, team selection and recruitment not on the same page. This Leeds today is not offering much in creativity, definitely looking like side stuck in the bottom half of the table and will probably struggle next season as well.

I’ve a really bad feeling that we’re going to Catalan in the semi.

You’re assuming we will beat Salford or HKR in the first round? Hull KR seem to fear no-one and are playing really well.

Always confident at home. Perhaps a cricket score against Hull might help.

3rd is looking likely to be honest.

I think Wigan will win both their games. Leigh away could be tricky for them, but it's likely Leigh will be confirmed 4th by then and they could rest players before the Play Offs or at least take their eye off the ball.

If we're going to overtake anyone it's most likely to be Catalans. They're not in good form but they play Leeds next week and based on what I'm seeing here, I'm expecting they will put on a score in France which may take points differnece out of the equation. Their last game against Salford could be tough, but again, Salford may have nothing to play for.

We also need to win both our games to have any chance. Next Friday is a really tough game given Warringtons resurgence the last few weeks. We've also lost Delaney so are short up front. We need Sironen back ideally but if he's not 100% I wouldn't risk it with the Play Offs so close.

I guess the writing was on the wall for Leeds when Smith spent most of pre-season having them practice kick offs and passive defense. He's clueless.

I imagine 3rd is on the cards for us. So what would that be? Wire home then Wigan/Catalans away if we were to make the GF? Tough route that with the players we've got out.

Do Leigh have the squad depth to rest anyone going ahead of the play offs? They don't really have kids to fall back on. You never know, they could do us a favour in the last round.

I think Leigh have to go all out every game. Lam will want to put one over his old team.he seems very emotional tinged with bitterness for Saints and Wigan...

Just explain who this resurgent Warrington are? Yes they battered a useless Castleford, but would not be calling them resurgent ! Agree they will raise their game against the world champions, but if are players are on form we win, simple

Is no one confident on being able to outscore Catalans by 13 points in 2 games? They only beat Wakefield by 8 (even we did better than that!) and seem to be in the middle of a right wobble. You would assume Leeds would at least want to restore some pride today and Salford may well need to win to remain in the playoffs.

We’ll finish third. Wigan and Catalans will both win their remaining games. If we get passed week one of the play offs I’m guess that means a semi final away at Catalans? That will be tough.

EDIT: I think we’ll lose at Warrington next week.

Would have been useful if someone had reminded Leeds they had a game today, mind.

We have to win our 2 games. Forget making up the points difference as Catalans are at home to Leeds next Sat. They'll stick 40 plus on them.

They are at Salford last game though. No guarantee of winning there, particularly if Salford need the points to finish top 6

Got to win at Warrington next week if not we will be 3rd because the points difference is against us and both Wigan and Catalan are more likely to win their games on that weekend. If we lose its a dead rubber game against Hull because we could have to score 50+ points, if it comes to that I can see Wello selecting a reserve side with about 8 players rested.

If we end up playing Catalan in the semi's we need to fly over there the day before, doing it in in one day would be bad prep and the likely outcome is that we lose.

The fixtures are looking favourable for Wigan and Catalan. Wigan have Cas who'll have nothing to play for and Leigh could easily end up with nothing to play for in that last game.
Catalan will trounce Leeds, the Salford game is an interesting one depends how today goes I suppose but if Salford lose today that last game could end up a dead rubber.
Assuming we win both games which most certainly isn't a given we need one of three things I'd imagine

    1) We need to outscore Catalan
    2) Salford need to beat Catalan
    3)Leigh need to beat Wigan
