Just read that Eric Prescott has passed away, a cracking player for us before he want to Salfird and nice bloke, who was an inspiration and great supporter to his son. Condolences to all his family,

RIP Eric.
One of the best forwards of his generation not to get a GB cap
Tough running player always seem to run harder when he was at Salford and played against us.

Fine player. Seem to remember his coming into the Championship Final team on the left wing when player-power forced out Frank Wilson. We won that game against a strongly fancied Leeds with Frank Myler having a blinder. Everyone got soaked at Odsal when a tremendous thunderstorm broke just after final whistle
Sad news. I worked with his wife for a while and met Eric quite a few times. Lovely guy.
He's not the Messiah, he's a naughty boy.
One of my favourite finals, that. But I remember the thunderstorm a bit differently. We turned up expecting to stand on the terraces but it was a glorious day and someone came up and offered us his stand tickets because he wanted to stand in the sunshine. We accepted them because we had an older chap with us, then half way through the game the heavens opened and we watched everyone outside get drenched. By the time the game finished the rain had stopped and we walked out into the sunshine again! Happy days!
And yes, he was a great player.
He was a goodun ,R I P and condolences to his family.
Great player RIP
