We are actually missing Grace, not him personally but a player of his calibre.

The only player we have brought in is Ritson, he's only here on a seasons trial, he needs to play or we'll never know whether he is going to make it or not.

If you don't use him against Leigh when are we going to play him.
He needs to play to get experience and to build up an understanding with the rest of the team

Very few of us knew anything about Grace until he was thrown in against Wigan, sometimes you have to take a chance

To be fair, he played a bit of the warm up game in Australia against St George Illawarra and he played against Castleford and scored a try. He’s not been overlooked entirely by any means. The dilemma is that, after the Leeds defeat, the Leigh game becomes an important must win psychologically. In the greater scheme of things it isn’t that big but Wellens, the players and the fans won’t want to lose two on the bounce and so Wellens may play safe and that may not involve Ritson.

Personally speaking, I’d like to see Ritson play but I think YGs team suggestions are near to the mark as they usually are.

fair bit of snow overnight in my area. Any risk of the game being called off?

I’ve just been thinking about the proper snow we used to get when I lived in Tottington and then Greenmount. I think Bury gets a bit more snow than Leigh but I could be wrong.

The world was cut off from Tottington. Having worked in Bury I can believe it!

Probably all turn to slush this afterrnoon with forecast of sunny periods, don't think we are going to have an early evening freeze either.

Ritson's problem is that Grace made his debut when we were on the ropes, in the aftermath of Cunningham's disastrous stint as coach. He'd been hyped-up for a couple of years and the clamour from the fans was for him to be given a go - especially when, up to Cunningham leaving, Jack Owens had been a regular on the wing for us.

We weren't in contention for anything when Grace made his debut, and so he had a bit of a free hit. It was clear he had pace and real quality when running in open space and could get the crowd on their feet. His defence (more the positioning) and catching bombs needed work, but then so did the team as a whole!

Ritson is coming into a team that has dominated for the past four seasons. We, the fans, don't want to see any weak link introduced that an opposition could exploit.

I think if it were Ritson making his debut under 'the three wise men' in 2017, we'd be giving him a lot of leeway to develop any aspect of his game that needed to be worked on. Now? Fans tend to want close to the finished article so won't have the same sort of patience.

Let’s hope the same can be said about our performance tonight, but it has to be said now we have a significant number of players out now which is a real concern.

We first lived in Teddyacre, one of several cottages off Cann Street, Tottington - part way up a bit of West Pennine Moor with the Roman Road and Affetside on top. Then a bit more conventionally on Vernon Road, Greenmount close to Holcombe Brook.

PS Don’t know what it’s like there but there’s just been a very sudden thaw here.

I lived opposite Vernon Road. The sun has melted all the snow in Middleton where I work

Royle over Norman is interesting from a longer term pov

But that was pretty much always going to be the team and is still very strong indeed.

Not really,Royle is a back row and Norman isn't. Would we want LMS doing 80 minutes in the back row.

Happy to see Royle get a start. He deserves a proper run and tonight is his chance
I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong.

Don't think the balance would be right there. It would mean 3 out and out props on the bench, I don't think Louie is a second rower anymore.
