A game too far for Newcastle with the Warriors blowing them away in the second half today. The Warriors will have a tough assignment in Brisbane next week

I don’t think it’s down to individual abilities of refs in either league. Both make mistakes, sometimes horrendous ones like Klein made. It’s the week in week out general standard that depresses me. The game is so much more entertaining in Aus because the ruck is so much quicker which could be easily solved with some tough reinforcement and patience. I keep counting how long it takes for the average tackle and PTB to be and it’s more like 5 secs over here compared to 3 over there. I can’t understand why the powers that be just don’t seem to get it.

Was a great win for NZ Warriors. And the nearest to a big UK game in terms of atmosphere with crowd fully involved and singing etc. It is something I miss from north of England as here you rarely get any crown interaction but the Warriors fans are getting into it now ( I have been watching them here since 1999)Up the Wahs, let's gone Warriors but COYS always.

They looked back up there with Johnson playing and, unusually for the NRL, the atmosphere came through on the telly. Even the commentators said it was like Premiership football (soccer) and it really seems to raise the team. I've really enjoyed watching them this year, so full of ambition, but the Broncos looked incredible last week. I would love to see either of them give the Panthers a good challenge...they are so good it's almost boring. Up the Wahs!

It's been awesome seeing the Warriors go so well this year. Looking forward to their game vs Brisbane!

Just coming back to you on this... there was an interview with Adam Reynolds over the weekend and he spoke very highly of Briers. He confirmed he is coaching their attack.

Shaun Johnson will probably win the Dally M and deservedly so I think. Very different player to what he was earlier in his career and whilst he doesn't have the speed that he once did, his ball playing and game management has got a lot better.

I can't look past a Penrith vs Brisbane GF.

So Penrith going to 4 GFs in a row. Got to be one of the best teams ever in Australia. And second best team in the world to boot!

Really looking forward to it. Hope it delivers as it has the potential to be a classic. Best two teams by a distance.

If Briers really is in charge of the Brisbane attack let’s get him at Saints. Helps that they have a world class SH playing off the back of one of the most athletic packs you’ll ever see. Anyone know what Agar’s role at Warriors is?

No but the Warriors have improved massively under this coaching team.
I saw Justin Morgan was also involved in the set up too.

I think the Broncos have some team this year. A really hard working pack and a lightning quick back line that just play what's in front of them.

Interesting if any Wigan or Catalans players cone under the MRP this week because obviously their next games are the semifinals.

I think Catalans had a couple of sin binnings in their game but I don't know what for or if their will be further punishments.

Also on either Twitter or Facebook someone posted a clip of Bevan French making contact with the ref.
It was fairly innocuous, he put his had on the refs arm or shoulder but its always been a Golden Rule for no contact either the ref. I've seen bans for similar ones in the past, I think LMS did something similar last season or one before

Believe Agar is bringing in some of that wider experience, building rosters, general club stuff etc. Webby is still a new head coach so having an experienced head to throw ideas into mix is always useful and they know each other from when Webby was in uk. The original SJ, Stacey Jones is there, and will be attack/halves coach plus Justin Morgan.

Broncos speed and offloads to proactive receivers did for the Warriors, sadly. Still a very positive season and on a plus side my 16yr old daughter got an A on her English exam choosing to write about the Wahs!

I presume your daughter wrote about the Warriors prior to their defeat to the Broncos so her submission was devoid of expletives. Well done to her, anyway. As an aside, does she have an English or New Zealand accent, ie pronouncing Test as Tist?

Ha ha born and raised in Aotearoa so she has an accent that fits into West Auckland life but certain words and phrases she certainly has my Lancastrian lilt.

Did anyone see anything of the women’s semi final yesterday? I only caught the last 25 mins or so but really enjoyed it. I could watch their Womens game every week without question, they’re fast, fluent, powerful and technically a fair bit further on than ours to be honest.

I remember watching some of the women’s origin game a few years back and I was surprised then by how good it was and how much I enjoyed it.

To top it all off they got I think 15,000 through the turnstiles for that match yesterday.

All set to be a great Grand Final tomorrow- Panthers vs Broncos...

Two best sides in the competition this year and all the key players fit.

Penrith are favourites to make it three in a row and deservedly so, but wouldn't surprise me if Brisbane upset them with the attacking strike they have.

Could go either way and looking forward to it!

I don't understand the craze from NRL Teams to go short from a drop kick. The potential reward isn't worth the risk

    Cracking start to the final.
NRL clubs have been doing the short kick off consistently for couple of seasons now, I estimate with a 75% + success rate.

Some dumb play by the Broncos.
