He was one of the toughest running forwards I've seen. Really hope all is well as can be for him

Terrible news and I hope things work out for him.

He was a fantastic player for us and if folklore be believed, one of the funniest practical jokers to ever enter the saints dressing room. Jammers story about the physio showing round a visitor is hilarious.

I think pretty much everyone who played with Fozz will have some stories

I think he had accepted that his upright running style on impact was more or less a car crash on his head and neck area. Hope his comical nature stays with him to help him whats coming down the track. Tough bloke with no pulling back when he played the game.

Absolutely loved Foz, always gave everything and never took a step back. Also a really nice bloke to talk to. We needed that type of prop during our first few years at Langtree.

Really sad to hear what's happened, bit I'll also say its really refreshing and shows the type of bloke he is that he isn't blaming anyone and knows what the sport has given him. I hope he gets all the support and help he needs from Saints and the RFL.

Not the first or last this will happen to and it’s even more gutting when it’s a popular ex-Saints player, too.
