St George also confirmed they'll play us in a friendly the week before. Exciting start to the season for us.

Looking forward to this, and good to have an NRL warm up first. Thought the Dolphins might have put their hat in the ring for the warm up, a chance to get themselves a scalp before the season starts over there.

And being broadcast by Channel 4 too, excellent!

Yeah really good, just a shame it's such an early start for the casual viewer that might not be up a just switch it on by chance.

Fantastic news, getting the club out there and raising it's profile. It should be a great experience for the lads too. I just hope it doesn't mean we lose a few of them if they're impressed by what they see, but that's an everpresent risk anyway.

I just I was rich enough at the moment to do the week there. Is anyone on here going? If so, would they mind documenting it a bit on here perhaps?

Cheapest flight is 1500 from Manchester at the minute unless youre prepared to go via the USA which adds another 10 hours onto the flight time.

Just booked ours, only off for 4 nights as I'm a teacher and it's fell in my HT but need to be in work on the Monday so home Sunday morning!

    Flights were 1350 from Manc.

There's flights from around 800-900 from Heathrow via America, does take 30-31 hours instead of the 23-24 usually but a lot of money saved.

Hotels aren't too bad, in Sydney can get an alright hotel for about 50pp per night.

Penrith slightly dearer but nothing bad. We're doing 2 nights in Sydney and 2 in Penrith.

I reckon you can do a week from Heathrow for around 1300 based on 2 sharing if people are looking for the most cost effective way.

With me being lazy and not looking how far is Penrith from Sydney? How will you commute?

You can do it under an hour either by car, taxi or direct train from central Sydney, it's out of town into the mountains but not too far and it's well connected.

EDIT - Just checked to make sure my memory wasn't failing, it's 47 mins direct on the train from Sydney to Penrith, and cheap as chips as well.

    Just SkyScanner.

We got them for 550 in 2017 with Cathay Pacific but everything is through the roof now!

Is there a central site where tickets for both games can be purchased or are they yet to be released?

Nothing out yet. I think Saints will probably sell Penrith ones.

St George might just be through their own site as won't be a big crowd.

haha in 2017 when I went for the WC for 2 weeks it absolutely killed me when I got back, I'm hoping shorter time will mean it's not as bad but there's no logic to that other than hope....

There is a non stop flight Heathrow to Perth in West Australia (17 hours), stop over a couple of nights then 4.5 hour flight to Sydney on Qantas.
