Default Coach Travel to Wigan Nov 5th

Does anybody know of any coaches from St Helens to Wigan for Saturdays quarter final?

I don't but is the train an option for you? Wigan North Western a 15 min walk to the ground. I'll be getting the train from Garswood (which the St.Helens train passes through) and then walking from Wigan North Western it's easy enough.

5 Nov is another RMT strike day, those Northern trains from St Helens to Wigan might not be running, or at least not in any great numbers. They're updating Saturday's timetable tomorrow to show if and when any will be running, so maybe the OP asked about coaches with that in mind.

Yeah I checked my train earlier and clocked that so will be checking again tomorrow. Might have to go old school and get on the bus from Ashton, something I've not done for about 20 years.

Is there good parking at Garswood YG? I’m not asking for the 5th but for future reference.

Very limited space on the actual station car park (not actually a car park just a cobbled road off the main road) but there’s plenty street parking available within a 2 minute walk. There’s also the Railway pub car park which is literally over the road from the station approach and I don’t think they’re particularly fussy about who’s parking there and for how long etc.

Yes the question was asked because of the rail strike.

It looks like there are no coaches running then - seems a bit of a missed opportunity.

Driving or Bus - pretty crap choice either way

352 every 30 minutes. 10 to the hour and 20 past the hour. Goes via Carr Mill Billinge Pemberton. Goes right by stadium at Saddle Junction where Asda is.

Last time I went in there, admittedly 30 years ago they weren't bothered about anything much, it was a proper drinkers pub

Looks like Train Strikes have been called off by RMT.

But tomorrow’s service still “extremely limited.”
