Williams is far better than he’s shown at Warrington. Again, brings into question the culture there.

Big thing for England now is don't get over confident moving on from this game. Samoa have been very average at best. A more cohesive team will be a big test.

How the hell was Radley MOM. He was good but it had to be a back. They just had to give it to an Aussie.

Ridley passed better from the PTB than Mickey Mac, He was really bad in a stand out team performance.

Well that was a great way to start things (opening ceremony excepted). There’s been a fair bit of talk from Australia from people who know nothing about the British game about how England wouldn’t be able to live with any of the top four southern hemisphere teams (Phil Gould is taking a hammering on Twitter as we speak). Obviously this doesn’t mean we’re going to win it but it’s satisfying to see a marker laid down in this fashion.

For everyone that moans about sky coverage

I found the coverage a bit dire. Constantly cutting to Samoa coach for no reason while trying to watch the game.
Talking over video ref.. Davies is starting to sound too grumpy..

Happy to see England blast away Somoa for a warm up.. and definitely promising signs for England

As long as Mclorum isn't selected again I will be happy

    Absolutely.
Standard procedure just over hyping an Aussie/the NRL.

Welsby / Williams should definitely have got it. Shocking award from Davies that, shocking.

Agreed he was the weakest player in our team poor delivery and looked gassed after 20mins.

Have to bite down and say Chris Hill I wouldn't have picked but he rolled back the years.

Gus doesn't given any credit to the British game whatsoever. The fella may have set up the Panthers pathways, but he certainly loves himself and can't do comment on anything without some sort of self-praise. Happy he's being made to eat his words after this game.

Coverage in Australia was bad. Fox Sports kept having technical difficulties so missed about 15 minutes of that second half too.

Jonathan Davies bores you to death sack him off and use the guy off Premier sports Wilson, far better.

My thoughts exactly, the actual MOM said the same thing. Welsby really good in the first half and Williams really good in the second half.

On a side note, must have been embarrassing for Powell to see Williams play like that.

For all the (deserved) criticism of Davies, Noble is equally poor and I think he was mainly the guilty party in talking over the video ref. Wet shammy leather indeed.

One of those two for me as well. I thought Williams probably just edged it. Apart from Mcllorum I don't think that there were any poor performances.

Every time a player makes a mistake we get Davies saying "all he to do was***" I know he was good, but he seems to think he was the perfect player. Don't know what Nobby was on about - Samoa like a Chamois leather. The other commentators asked him what that meant and he couldn't explain it.

Going to be hard to justify Bateman getting into this England 17 now?
