Lots of national coverage on TV, Radio and Podcast today about the World Cup, not a 1 minute snippet either.

Got to say it, only Rugby League can shoot itself in the foot like this, mind you they'd probably miss. Surely there must have been a sound check, even in my little club we have those before big functions

Of course there will have been a sound check. Makes no difference if the PA breaks down.

Welsby must have thought so too, quite a few times Welsby pushed him out of the way to pass the ball out wider.

Can you buy tickets from Saints for World Cup games. I've already got mine but I've been asked by someone, I wasn't sure?

I thought so cheers...it doesn't make a lot of sense that to me, there'll be a lot of older folk who won't bother buying off a website.

The official World Cup account said that you could buy them from the venue on the day if not sold out when someone asked on Twitter the other day

Seeing Jack Welsby scoring the first try in the National BBC News headlines was pretty good as well. If it carries on like this it will be good for the sport.

Great off-field stats coming out of today’s
    @RLWC2021
    opener:

    * more fans from the north east than anywhere else
    * biggest single game attendance for a World
    Cup opener in northern hemisphere
    * highest grossing gate for an individual group game in this country at a World Cup

The last point is an important one - we haven’t gone for the ridiculously cheap ticket approach we have in the past so when there is a decent crowd it means a decent take for the sport. We need tournaments like this to make good profits.

That England performance should ensure big turn outs for our remaining games, will boost enthusiasm and attendances at non-England games, and I’m 100% certain the semi at the emirates will be a sell out.

Well done Shaun Wane and England.

To be fair, the BBC have always been good to rugby league and have always given the game the respect it deserves. They give more than SKY do

Not sure it's much of a surprise when you look at the options Tonga have. Even with Staggs being unavailable for the tournament, Talakai and Penisini are strong centres. Think Tolutau Koula will play at full back for them.

Just seen some of the Italy vs Scotland game... Maizen, the Italy winger looks a good threequarter. Scored a hat trick. A QLD cup player it seems.

I bought a Gino D'Acampo Lasagna once. Does that qualify?
