That’s some achievement from an academy player. Hope he goes well
Don't know much about him what position does he play and will we be seeing him in the first team next year?
He’s a prop and over 100kg at 18. Stand out in the academy this year, and won our academy player of the year. Next year may be a year too early (and would have to get past LMS, Norman and Wingfield for a spot), but we will definitely see him in the coming years.
Played in both the Cas game and the Wakefield game this year.
Anyone know how he got on for the Knights?
Old thread but deserves a shout out for his performances in the last few weeks. Looking forward to seeing him develop, another tremendous product of the academy.
I have been watching this lad play for Swinton this year in the championship and I do not think I have seen a forward who runs with such commitment and determination as him. Once he adds a bit of size he will be a very good SL player.
He was also doing big minutes. He would start and go off on 50" and come back for the last 15.
I think the reaction to his performance against Warrington is really understated. He was absolutely immense and looked like a seasoned veteran consistently taking 3 to 4 men to bring him down and making post contact yardage.
He is definitely our 5th prop now and I would have no qualms about him being 4th if and when LMS retires. I dont see a way back for Norman now.
Looking at the England squad for Saturday, Delaney would walk into it. I'm glad he's not playing though from a selfish point of view.
NEVER WRITE OFF THE SAINTS
He hasn't at all. He's a real talent.
However, I have to admit that when I saw his first game I feared that he was too slight, but he runs so hard he was getting his nose through against seasoned props who have been around for years in the championship.
I do fear for defenders when he puts size on, but I just hope we do not go Paul Clough on him.
He's already played for the Full England Knights team at the end of last season after just a few substitute appearances in our first team.
The fact the knights is coached by Paul Anderson tells you all you need to know how well thought of Delaney is as a future superstar prop. Baloo certainly knows a good prop when he sees one. Saints problem in a few years time is how to keep him out of the clutches of the NRL.
Double post
2 year extension

I just read a news report that saints are negotiating a longer deal with Delaney, but dropped into the story in passing was a statement that Norman is off to Leigh next year. Did I miss an announcement?
