Read that on twitter too but no idea how true.

We are in trouble if both are them are out.

I’m not 100% on the source of that news so I’ve not bothered posting it anywhere as a result but also hoping that it was wrong.

Not heard anything about Hopoate but have heard that Lees isn't playing on Saturday

    Certainly worrying isn't it?

I could be wrong of course but it's a good pal of mine who does hear stuff.

    Certainly doesn't make things up.

    Indeed.

Maybe the club could be a bit more clear on the injury situation then?

If we were decimated with injuries, I'm pretty sure most would do everything they could to attend. The support at Cas knowing we had a scratch side out was superb

Will be a really tough game but I agree, I’m expecting a different saints side to turn up.

If we are going to win Super League this season, it would require two absolutely horrific grinds against much fresher and faster sides. It wouldn't surprise me if this group of lads managed it though, as there is something special about them, a resilience we've not seen at Saints before. But losing to Salford would mean we could avoid losing to Wigan, which wouldn't be a nice experience.

Hope I am wrong of course but I won’t be shocked in the slightest if we get beat as it’s as much on the cards as anything. Sounds like a fair old few on here could be in a state of shock if we get beat though.

Surprise surprise! I wondered when Captain Doom and his daughter would arrive :-)

You think we're going to win the GF from here if it's true that Walmsley and Hopoate are added to the injury list? It's possible, but it would be an astonishing achievement. I've said already that they've got it in them, but it's going to be an enormous ask.

We have seen Knowles at prop win MoM for England and Paasi has outperformed Walmsley for large parts of the season, where as we have hardly seen Hopoate at all. If we have lost Walmsley and Hopoate, but get back Percival and Mata’utia I would still be very confident.

The main thing we have struggle with is our left edge getting exposed as Davies and Bennison are young and can’t play the pressure reads like our more senior players, which has put more pressure on our patched up spine to pull out miracle plays (which sometimes they have sometimes they haven’t). Bringing the defensive integrity we have seen prior to Mata’utia’s ban vs Huddersfield and we could basically win the next 2 games 2-0 and I would feel confident about it.

I'm feeling a lot less good about it after the news about Walsmley and Hopoate. Saturday is now a much tougher assignment. I'm still confident we'll beat them, but if we win the title from here it'll be some achievement.

It’s just the way that you and Rev are always so negative.

If its true about Walmsley and Hopoate, we are very much up against it. 4 of our starting 17 out, Matautia and Percival not played alot of rugby recently.

Best case scenario with those missing is:

Bennison, Makinson, Hurrell, Matautia, Percival, Welsby, Lomax, Lees, Roby, Paasi, Batchelor, Sironen, Knowles.
    Subs: Bell, Lussick, Wingfield, LMS

Crikey, if it's true about Walmsley and Hoppa then that is crap!

Hopoate has been a really poor signing this year if true, yes he has played well when he has been fit and in the team, but those occasions are few and far between and I'd argue the return we are getting from someone who is likely to be on a decent salary, and a quota spot, isn't balancing with the investment.

If we can play with intensity and get rid of our poor form that's still a good enough squad the key would be if Bennison can step up in a big game.

Those knock ons under the high ball or under no pressure are game killers in semi finals. Same if you don't hit a pass right

He's had bad luck with injuries that's for sure, but he isn't the first overseas player to be in that situation and he won't be the last and that applies to every team that has ever signed overseas players.

Aye, but that doesn't mean it's right and we should be cool with it because others have been in the situation. We are now at the business end of the season and once again, looks to be absent from the team sheet, when someone else with a level of ability which would benefit the team, could be playing instead.
