    Default Holbrook can't last....

Seeing reports of todays game, it seems the end is near for JH. Getting beat by a Canterbury side that cant buy a win. The Interviews, the body language, the whole persona that we remember him by, has faded. He looks as if he's had enough. Sad really because his stock was huge when he left us. Hope things pick up for him and, if as expected, he gets an assistant gig somewhere and kicks on.

7th and 8th are pretty good finishes for Titans under Holbrook after being rock bottom in 2019. On the whole he’s done a good job there. The recruitment this off season was shambolic, mind.

I spoke about this a couple months back in the NRL thread... Last year Cowboys and Broncos finished 15th and 14th respectively. This year both are in the top 4. Both recruited new halves in the off season who've made a big difference.

Titans have Kieron Foran coming for next year. Whether that's enough I'm not sure but I think they've recognised they haven't got the balance right with the playmakers.

Wasn’t there a rumour going round this week that Foran is trying to backflip on joining Titans?
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

I didn't watch the game at the weekend but he's really made a mess of things this year.

He has one of the best second rows in the world on huge money and can't get him into a game. Also his constant tinkering with his back line and spine has been really puzzling.

Yes read that... if he does, not sure where that would leave the Titans because there's not many other halves of the same mould available. Or on the off contract list at least. And for Manly, they have Josh Schuster who was rumoured to be putting pressure on the club to take the 6 jersey. They won't want to lose him as he is a really good young player. Foran is 32 now and the 2 year deal from the Titans may be the best he can get.

What are the odds of Holbrook coming back to Saints if Wolff leaves?

Minimal is my guess. Too much messing for a young family.

    Highly unlikely.
His wife for one put her career on hold while he was at Saints.
Leaving aside the schooling etc for his kids.

Question - Why would Saints seek to get him back?
He was the perfect appointment to replace KC but why go back other than nostalgia?

I think you’ll find Agent Powell is doing his job just fine.

I have it from a good source that someone looking suspiciously like your chairman was seen meeting Powell at Burtonwood Sevices where he handed over a very bulky brown paper bag. I’ll say no more…

It was a copy of this book:-

One of the co-owners of the Titans has said this week, that Holbrook will be in charge at the start of next season. They're not putting all of the blame for their poor season on him it seems. And I think he deserves the backing.

This is true. I have a friend who is in Aus with him at the moment and he has confirmed he is staying

They can sack him and replace him with whoever, it won’t change the fact that their squad is pretty crap. Be nice to see a club stick with the process and give someone a chance rather than chopping and changing at the first opportunity.

Couldn't agree more, think back to when Woolf started with the early season loses pre covid, how many on here were screaming for him to go. Look where we are now.

No doubt Holbrook is a bit happier today after his first win in a while.

Titans have ended a 10 game losing streak and come off the bottom of the ladder.
