    1. Charnley has been and remains a good winger
    2. Think it will be close until the last quarter
    3. I have a feeling that Powell will target challenge cup this year so I’ll give you a nudge towards the end of may

Don’t you think that they actually got rid of Price and brought Powell in to win a Grand Final? I’d be surprised if he can do it this year but surely that’s the ultimate target? They haven’t waited 60+ years for a Challenge Cup win.

I agree Suttoner, I think they have bought Powell in to get the monkey off their back, however, think he’ll want a trophy this year and that’s most likely the challenge cup. Think he will then look to shape the squad for next season and they’ll be more competitive next year. That’s not to say he won’t be giving it a go this season, just think wire are a couple of players short.

I reckon Warrington have brought in Powell because they have exhausted all other avenues in the pursuit of the Championship. Tony Smith couldn’t bring it despite being IMO a good coach. Pryce (despite his monotone demeanour) always looked frustrated as if other forces were at play during his tenure. Didn’t Powell get shut of Briers as soon as he got the gig? I’m probably wrong. But maybe Powell didn’t want the same baggage that held back Pryce? Anyway. I think the issues at Warrington go way passed the coaching ability. Theres some sort of cultural or mentally problem at that club.

Kudos for Wolfie coming on here predicting a big saints win. No point being patronising towards him. We will win well tomorrow if we play as well we can. Not because Warrington are particularly bad. Just because we are head and shoulders better than every other team this year. Complacency or huge injuries are the only thing that can stop us winning something this year.

Tomorrow night our left edge of Matautia, Percival and Makinson will rack up all our points without the team breaking much of a sweat.

I think that the baggage hold back Pryce was Pryce.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I think Chris Hill is still a very good prop and they made the wrong decision letting him go. They look light up front to me.

I know a few Warrington fans who say exactly the same.

Agree and Disagree. They are light at Prop and have not replaced Chris Hill. However Chris Hill today is not the Chris Hill of two three years ago.

At no point today have i been nervous or thought that they would come close to us, their pack is garbage and if you slow their backs, as we did tonight, they have nothing, even when down to 12 they were barely a threat.

Hardly news, it was touted when he only signed a 1 year contract for us.

I thought this as well, I thought it was already a thing ages ago. Maybe it was just one of those rumours that you take for granted is a done deal.

It will be interesting to see if his performances drop off, now he has a deal.

You're all quoting Wolfie to the wrong thing here. He posted that back in March after we'd beaten them and relates to a previous post they made in the thread. Nothing to do with this latest news.
