The goalposts have moved. Pie Sports now talk about 'Grand Finals won' instead of SL titles, so they can keep mentioning Leeds and not give us the credit we deserve.

We can also always say our three-peat is superior, when Leeds achieved it they also won a minor trophy in the LLS, when we completed ours we also won a major trophy in the CC.

As for the Saints Ladies great mindset from some of them saying the same thing, its not about scoring points its more about keeping the opposition to nil.

Great stuff from the ladies, good viewing. Although as has been pointed out the SKY bias was well to the fore. Even I was amazed when Clarke managed to get in a mention for ratboy, a male player from a team unrelated to either of the teams competing in a womens match. Unbelievable!

St Helens BBC Sports Personality Club of the Year? Can’t think of any other club who have had more success. Harlequins won the Union mens and women premierships but our men did the double and the ladies the treble. What a club!!
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

What a fantastic impassioned interview by Jodie Cunningham. You could see how much the win meant to her and the game as well. That would be a brilliant promotion for the game of it was shown on the news. She was fantastic.

BBC news at ten tonight - let's not underestimate the women's game & its ability attract publicity.

Was going to mention this. My other half (who has zero interest in RL or sport in general) came in just as Jodie started and had a tear in her eye by the end.

Building things like the women's game and non/limited contact versions of the sport are going to be hugely important for growth over the next 10+ years and having people like Jodie around to help develop that is massive. Hopefully either the club or the RFL have her lined up in some form of ambassador or development role.

I see Salford have announced today they're setting up a women's team for next year too which is good news. Hopefully more follow suit and put some genuine effort into it.

Its a good time to increase the exposure of the Ladies game and give it the publicity it richly deserves, its remarkable the amount of sacrifices the females have to make to create the standard it is now. In the Saints we have young mothers, nurse, army people, working people who don't have the benefits of other female professional sports.

The likes of Leeds, York and Saints have raised the game to a new level and it won't take long for other associated clubs to improve and start catching up in standard. I,ve watched a few saints ladies games this season and the skill sets are very high, hope to see all their home games next year. I also hope the players get some form of payment they are great ambassadors to their respective clubs and in a way are giving more rugby league profile compared to the mens as interest is now going upwards at a fair rate.

She represents Saints and the game admirably. I know she works for the RLWC team at the moment but she’d be an excellent person for the club to have on board in an outreach/ambassadorial role after that.

Just catching up on the game now, but what a try that is from Jodie Cunningham on the stroke of half-time, absolutely brilliant.

Yes but not in the same context as the male pro’s. Amy Hardcastle for example was signed from Bradford Bulls she is real star off the pitch as well, think she still lives in Brighouse, Yorkshire and works as a nurse that includes care of COVID patients.

Chantelle Crowl was signed from Widnes Vikings, I heard she use to be a boxer with a good punch and had to overcome racism in her younger days, one of the fittest female forwards in the game.

Carrie Roberts got signed up from the army having served in Afghanistan, she boxed for the army and played in the forces rugby union team as well as Saracens. St Helens girl played league with Thatto Heath.

And talking of different contexts, I think York recruited a number of key players and the coach from Castleford during this year’s Cup campaign, which saw York beat Cas easily.

Leeds signed Georgia Roche to try and get near to Saints Ladies next year.

Going to be hard as we was so much better than the rest???

The Double Treble is worth a gamble?

Great (if pretty brief) interview with Jodie Cunningham yesterday afternoon on R5Live. The presenter was gushing, and they were focusing on both the diversity of sport angle, and the rise of women's RL in the past few years. Cunningham came across well, as always.

I don't watch SPOTY, but it's a great achievement that both the women's and men's teams were nominated for the team of the year award (if anyone watched it, did this get a good piece done about it?). Just a pity that Lord Harold Mouthbreather and his bunch of bottlers won that award.
