Let's be honest, they knew what they were getting when they signed the likes of Singleton, an absolute plodder who likes to play the wannabee hardman. Surprised nothing has ever come of Morgan Smithies the way he was made out to be the next Paul Sculthorpe by most people, including Sky.

Only conceding eight points should be enough to win a game, but the attack is so blunt at the moment and teams know if they shut Hastings down Wigan struggle, we have really missed Bevan French as he could provide that spark and individual brilliance.
Harry Smith is getting a lot of criticism from Wigan fans but for me he's done o.k. considering he was meant to be a bench player this year. His match stats are pretty good for a young half, most attacking kicks up there for try assists. IF we can get the pack sorted out he'll be fine.

The biggest mistake we made was letting Tom Davies go.

Are you sure you’re not Adrian Lam?
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

Rogues, your pack Is garbage. When your best prop is Singleton, you are in bother. How much a yard does Bateman's effort cost ? You have completely wasted Hasting's efforts by him being behind such a weak front row. If you really believe that letting Davies go, s your biggest mistake, you are truly deluded.

    Really?
Are you happy with Batemans contribution this year? Let’s be honest RG, Hastings, Bateman and Hardaker have been distinctly average in Wigan shirts. I actually feel a bit sorry for Lam. Did Radlinski have any say in signing these players? If so i think he should be sacked. Dire

Tom Davies a prop is he?

I will say it again. Your pack is garbage. You need 3 props, a decent 9 and 2 second rowers. Seriously

He’s blinkered. He’s spent most of the time since Saints and Wire built stadiums saying how renting one is better. I bet he’d still stick to that now with the seats turning blue, the rent going up and Wigan cutting costs everywhere to try to break even because they have no real opportunity to grow.

Deeper rooted problems than just their playing squad/pack.
Their culture has been spoken about time and time again.

They seriously need to take a look at themselves. Partington, Smithes, Singleton - 3 excuses for prop forwards. Laughing in other players faces last year and this, thinking they’re something that they’re not. They just have an immature mindset. Bateman making a statement saying Wigan will win the grand final after they won a couple of games. Hardaker saying he’s the best fullback in the league then playing like he couldn’t lace Desi William’s boots. Laughable.

Just shows how little you know. Smithies has never played prop forward. He's a twenty year old row/loose forward and a good one at that especially considering his age.

Should have wrote Partington and Singleton as props and Smithies at LF, was just being lazy whilst referring to their laughing antics.

The point still stands. Thanks for referring to the only thing you could correct which was a typo

Can’t help but feel these arrogant, immature players are reliant on their clubs history rather than what they can actually produce themselves. Many fans, pundits have said they’re not good enough yet and need some leaders around them. Suppose the likes of Hardaker and Isa can’t be classed as leaders with their antics on/off the field/social media. Singleton at 28 should be one of the leaders but would you agree he’s just dump? Doesn’t appear you’ve recruited any either going for NRL reserves, a championship winger and a former Wigan reject who plays for Leigh. Again, laughable.

But what does Smithies achieve, apart from lots of second & third man tackles ? Has he ever passed the ball, he's supposed to be a loose according to you. The way your team uses it's loose is far more like an additional prop than a ball playing loose like say Morgan Knowles, who by the way, does not feel the need to go round sneering at opponents & head rubbing. Your forwards are all the same, part of your problem is that you can't or won't see it.

Wigan as a club are far too interested in promoting the “Wigan way” and they forget to coach rugby. Most of their young forwards are the same. Cocky, arrogant, petulant gobshites who aren’t actually very good at rugby. Havard is a good un but that’s it. Partington, Smithies, Byrne, etc all bang average but the locals love them because they’re “well ard.”

That’s actually incorrect - Smithies filled in a small number of times last season & at the end of the 2019 season at prop.

Bottom line is - Wigan have been found out & highlighted for their bullying thugby style this season - especially after their last game against Saints.

Same type of personalities in player personnel with characters such as Flower, Clubb, Isa, Bateman & Hardaker - can’t control themselves on & off the field with several well publicised incidents. Sets a bad example to the younger upcoming players.

“Highlights” of the play off games are on BBC 2 at 5:45pm. Could the BBC be persuaded not to show Wigan v Leeds because of its potential to put people off the sport for good?

Just watched it, they should have really shown the highlights of the highlights, 15 mins would have been enough.

Given that we are now going to play Leeds, I had a quick re-look at the minor fracas at the end of their game with Wigan. It confirmed to me that Newman punched Gildart causing a split lip so I’m now wondering whether he’ll be cited for it and be banned from playing next week. Or will his punishment merely be to try to stop Percy.

Apart from your woeful pack (their lack of metre making is detailed elsewhere), your "talented" players Hastings and Gildart have mentally been sunning themselves on Bondi Beach for some time now (worse even than Barba when he abandoned us on the pitch when he knew he was leaving). You always expect a good defensive display from the Pies, you know, whack, thump, headshot, lying on sledge, sledge, sledge, but when it comes to playing RL, my God how on earth did that lot end up 4th? Pitiful.

It needs to be in after 9pm, horror films shouldn’t be on before the watershed
