    Default Paasi tackle

I'm really hoping Langi is ok, but has anyone had a proper look at that tackle? He's clearly wiped Langi out but I can't tell from the video whether he's hit him in the head, and Sky didn't show a replay.

Is there any better video? Have we seen the last of Paasi this season?

My initial thought it was a crash type tackle and he suffered whiplash from it, strange that they didn't show any replay of it maybe it was too graphic. I don't recall any mass brawl breaking out, all I remember is Passi showing concern for Langi. On refection I,m assumming no initial contact with the head otherwise the video ref would have instructed a red card, maybe the yellow card was a gesture for the crash tackle technique, didn't see it go on report either.

Sky have just shown a replay of it. Doesn’t wrap his arm. Hard to see the contact point but probably was the jaw he made contact with. Probably end up 3/4 matches from it.

A couple of promising games and patches. However not done enough often enough.
It's the hole he leaves in the remaining games rather than what he hasn't done thus far.

At that stage of the game what was he thinking attempting a tackle like that. Stupid.

He's definitely been patchy but I thought he was having a decent game yesterday.

I've no idea why percy went to the bin for that but a late shoulder charge on coote after the kick had gone was completely unpunished shortly after

Forget that what about the penalty try that never was. Clear shoulder charge whilst in the act of trying to score from Maloney. Went unpunished in terms of cards and no doubt disciplinary this week.

Having just seen the replay it doesn't look so bad to me. He's mistimed it a bit and I can't complain if he gets a game for it. Anything more would be harsh, IMO.

I don't think it was that bad, it's a massive hit, no contact with the head, and to be honest - I don't even think it was a shoulder charge - he hits the chest.

I dare say had he not been injured so long, it wouldn't even have been a penalty

Langi had been running riot down that side for about 5 minutes and Passi saw a chance for a big hit on him, fair enough in my book.

I just can't see that at all from the angles Sky have shown. Paasi is stood square on to him as he approaches, which doesn't indicate a standard shoulder charge. Langi also drops as he approaches Paasi and you can't even see the impact point as it's completely hidden by Paasi's body. I can definitely see why the video referee has gone yellow, anything else would be based on assumptions and no evidence. Unless Sky have got better angles there is nothing in that to suggest a long ban. There was no reaction from Catalans until Paasi went to say sorry to him, at which point they objected. Tomkins was very close and saw it and was happy with the penalty, he wasn't appealing for anything else, which to me says a lot.

I think he'll get banned, but purely because of the injury, which is what a lot of people are basing their opinion of the tackle on. If he gets up and they play on, no one is worrying about that tackle.

Main thing is he's ok but it was a strange episode altogether. No replays but no explanation why. I've only seen it once but it just looked like a big hit to me

Didn't watch any of Sundays games , but out of interest did Hill have a head check AGAIN or did he eat his gum shield instead.

Not from what I can remember but it was utterly dire to watch on a hangover.

The hangovers was a fringe benefit, It was dire when sober. It was at a pace even Hill could manage.

Id like to say the defences were on top, but realistically, both teams were hopeless in attack.

Didn’t go off for head check he was choking a bit though must have been his neck strap. Changing his name for next season to Chris HIA-L.

I believe Passi has a 2 match ban.
