Surely a penalty try can only be awarded if a player fails to score because of foul play which prevents what would otherwise have been a certain try? If a player is fouled in the act of scoring, then is not a penalty awarded in front of the posts once the attempt at converting the try has been made (often referred to as “an 8 point try”)?

Stripped of a game!
It probably not intentional by the RFL but Warrington do seem to get Robert Hicks when other clubs have suffered the controvery of his reffing a game. Last season Warrington complained about James Chilsd and the RFL didn't allow him to ref another game with Warrington afterwards. There does seem to be an imbalance of impartiality here to allow a bit of advantage to Warrington in that perspective.
Many people in positions of influence in the game would like to see a new name on the GF trophy, and Warrington are probably top of that list. Helping hands? Decisions in their favour at this stage of the season perhaps not so important in that regard (though they need to secure a play-off place and Catalans are occupying one), but watch out at the end of the season when it goes down to the 'Wire'.
Sorry, couldn't resist that.
Yesterdays game was the first game, in a long while, involving Hicks without him causing controversy. Then again he was only a touch judge.
Loyal and true, not a glory hunter.
Did he make calls for the nonsense yellows?
