If Paul Green has now got one of the Dolphin assistant roles, does that mean he would be considered for the head coach job later and Woolf would not have a 100% guarantee certainity of being the head coach as reported.

Not sure you have seen the news about Paul Green last week but he passed away suddenly.

Been away on holiday since last week so obviously unaware of that, I had just read a recent post about the dolphins.

Woolf said the club are ‘comfortable’ with the situation. Suggests to me they are already sorted with Wellens to take over. Hope I’m wrong.

He also said his own future will be sorted in the next couple of weeks. Sounds like there are things still to be decided and the club are happy for him to take some time,IF Wello is to be the new coach then there is no rush to find anyone.

On the assumption that Woolf is going, and I have every reason to believe he will, then Mike Rush would have been in Australia by now looking for a replacement. On that basis, I think it's pretty certain that Paul Wellens will be the next coach.

Pre-season 2023 starts in about 12 weeks so I can't see any other conclusion unless it's the best-kept secret ever....and there are no secrets in today's world.

The lack of external activity does suggest Woolf or Wello, just need confirmation of the latter. We will back him all the way.

Been renting it since Millward then........................... Can't see it. They could have bought it by now in rent alone.

Why are we talking in code like it's a secret that a local businessman owns quite a few businesses and property?

According to this, Woolf will take over the Dolphins in 2024, so surely he'll stay with us for another year rather than go to a team for a year and then to the Dolphins?

The plan is for Woolf to do a year as assistant to Bennett then take over

This is the bit I struggle to comprehend, if true.

So leave the hugely successful ST Helen’s team where you are head coach and at the top of the tree, and head back to Australia to a newly formed franchise, where you will be an assistant coach.

Do your year as an assistant, and Bennet decides NOT to retire, where does that leave Woolfe?

And realistically, can he learn from Bennett? Woolfe strikes me as a bloody singleminded fella who has his way or the highway. Bennett is a prickly character and it might not work.

Regardless, he has had more success than Holbrook in his 3 year tenure and IMHO Woolfe has done enough to walk straight into a head coach role, just as Justin did…..
