Woolf said the club are ‘comfortable’ with the situation. Suggests to me they are already sorted with Wellens to take over. Hope I’m wrong.
On the assumption that Woolf is going, and I have every reason to believe he will, then Mike Rush would have been in Australia by now looking for a replacement. On that basis, I think it's pretty certain that Paul Wellens will be the next coach.
Pre-season 2023 starts in about 12 weeks so I can't see any other conclusion unless it's the best-kept secret ever....and there are no secrets in today's world.
Mr Graham seemed to know our new coach, shuuuuuuush.

Correct
Why are we talking in code like it's a secret that a local businessman owns quite a few businesses and property?

According to this, Woolf will take over the Dolphins in 2024, so surely he'll stay with us for another year rather than go to a team for a year and then to the Dolphins?
I ate a tuna sandwich on my first day!
Saints will announce Woolf for 1 year extension just before the grand final

This is the bit I struggle to comprehend, if true.
So leave the hugely successful ST Helen’s team where you are head coach and at the top of the tree, and head back to Australia to a newly formed franchise, where you will be an assistant coach.
Do your year as an assistant, and Bennet decides NOT to retire, where does that leave Woolfe?
And realistically, can he learn from Bennett? Woolfe strikes me as a bloody singleminded fella who has his way or the highway. Bennett is a prickly character and it might not work.
Regardless, he has had more success than Holbrook in his 3 year tenure and IMHO Woolfe has done enough to walk straight into a head coach role, just as Justin did…..
