On the Forty20 podcast this week they said the RFL was expecting around 40000 fans to be allowed. Obviously that was before the delta variant became prevalent so may change over the next month (or as soon as Monday).
I do think most who want tickets will be able to get them even if it's more severely limited tga N has been expected.

They are talking about 40,000 being in the Euros knockout stages even if restrictions are continued so hopefully we'll get 40,000.

I am sure there's an obvious answer...
.... but the cricket test is being played with an 18,000 full capacity crowd.
How does this fit in with the current restrictions and therefore can our final also be an exception?
The Edgbaston test match is one of the government’s pilot test events. They’re only at 70% capacity, no under 16’s and all ticket holders have to present a negative lateral flow test from the last 24 hours. So far out of the pilot events like the FA cup final, snooker finals, Brit awards, club nights in Liverpool etc there have been only 15 positive tests out of about 60,000 people which is no more than the national average anyway. The purpose of these events was to inform decision making going forwards and what restrictions will be lifted and when. Hopefully our final will not need to be an exception following the success of these events and sporting attendance restrictions will be lifted along with everything else.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.
I think the research into these events are so crucial. Not to make this political or anything, but I just do not know how you can go to the pub with strangers, have 30 people in your garden, yet you cannot go to a rugby match in an open space at a reduced capacity.
I feel sorry for the Welsh clubs in the lower leagues. The government had allowed some fans to go to their games this weekend and then changed their mind in the space of 2/3 days. It is becoming ridiculous when you see how successful these test events have been.
Look in the Hollies stand at Edgbaston where there’s people dancing, shouting, mingling, chucking inflatables around, building beer snakes that drip everywhere. If they don’t return a tonne of positive tests after this then there’s simply no argument for keeping restrictions on sporting events.

Agree completely, test before or fully vaccinated is probably the way to go in the interim. I see that potentially 'freedom day' will be delayed, however that was EVERYTHING going, so maybe there's some wiggle room, events maybe up to quarter capacity..
Masks indoors..
Current restrictions on meetings inside and out remaining
Large events were always slightly outside of everything, and had the most scientific tests done more - like o say we can only hope.. edgbaston could save everything
Heard a rumour it's 10,000 tickets ,6,500 of these carried over from last year ,leaving 3,500 for the rest
I really don't see why Wembley can't be half full. I wouldn't even bother with the proof of vaccination/tests, it's basically an open air event BUT essential that masks are worn unless sipping a pint or eating at your seat then back on with the mask. The concourse areas may prove difficult to police but SD queues for toilets and kiosks, no loitering straight back to seat should suffice.
If you can risk a test event like the cricket or a big bloody no mask, no SD concert at Sefton Park you could safely have Wembley half full in my non expert opinion.
As it happens with the shortish notice, peoples concerns, travel etc. we might not even get 45,000 who end up bothering it may be more 35,000 I reckon.. We'll see what gets announced soon enough...
I've decided not to bother. All this wearing masks bullshit is really starting to do my head in now. I had some snotty cow have a go at me on Friday because I walked inside a pub for a leak and forgot to put my mask on, I've had it twice before in shops too. You get on a plane/train and are expected to wear one and nosey •••••••s who are on some moral crusade think they have the right to make a •••• out of you in public, it's making me not want to socialise to be honest but I'm not paying through the nose for something I love to have it spoiled by a load of petty rules and mini Hilters.
And I get you mate, I'm not saying either of us are wrong, just having a bit of a vent. What I will say though is that I've been home nearly 4 weeks and have only been out once and enjoyed myself (the semi last week). I don't know if I'm reading too much into it but I'm just fed up of wearing the manky things. It's almost like it's become normality now. I mean surely in the UK at least most vulnerable people will be vaccinated.
I think it was Webbo last week that raised the issue that everytime there's an outbreak now it's in certain areas with certain demographics. What does that tell you? Because to me, it says the government aren't prepared to take these people to task on why they're refusing to get vaccinated and why they refuse to follow rules. That in my eyes is a big part of what's dragging this out because one thing we've done really well on is the vaccination program. I seen this with my own eyes in Heathrow last month and ended up having to isolate because of it. That's not the only reason by a long chalk but it's most certainly an issue.
Dave they are terrified of taking those groups on. Don't forget Bradford and Oldham they where on the streets before a Wiganner could gobble a pie down. Our lives, our society in terms of sport was put on hold whilst in numbers those with dual nationality did one, then they came back in droves and who suffers? We suffer. Pubs I mean proper pubs and clubs almost all gone, drug use is off the scale, if sport below the premiership starts to fail the Joe Public type has nothing left. I believe we are being excessively controlled now, and the scientists want to be stars like Robes and Lomax.
I always try and look at these type of situations objectively as it does my head otherwise but I have to agree with you. We are being excessively controlled and I think there's something to what you said earlier this week about this being an experiment now. It was certainly started with the right intentions and certainly saved lives but we now have well over half the population vaccinated. Further to your point regarding pubs and clubs, they don't feel like a social venue anymore, you have to sign in, sit down and all the rest of it. For me, going for a pint is about the social aspect and talking bollocks with people stood at the bar, not being drip fed beer by some snotty kid. Regarding drugs use, I was in Liverpool this week and was properly shocked at the state of some people walking around. I won't for one minute make out I've never taken a drug before - I have but in moderation and for recreational use when I was younger. I despair at times what life has become, I've made mistakes no doubt but I don't see much hope for the future right now, I'm almost grateful I've never had kids as I'd feel guilty about giving them a life like this.
Watching England today - can't see why a Challenge Cup final could be any different
That was correct. There were still a raft of tickets available in that 17,000 on the night beofre we beat Hull when I got ours.
According to Sky news, easing of lockdown is being pushed back to 19 July. Just waiting to see what that means in terms of numbers for Wembley and once that’s decided, how the available tickets will be distributed.
