Dufty’s s*** off a shovel! Come on Saints have a dig.
screaming in the family corner, scaring the kiddies
Mal Meninga, David Fairleigh, Ben Barba (a season and a half) all signed for a short stint and were brilliant for us. There's no doubt others aswell.
It's not a long term signing but it bides us further time to bring in a long term replacement or to allow our younger players to develop before stepping in.

It gives us a bit more time to either bring in a longer term player or a younger player. Also who knows,he might like it here and stay longer.
I’ve no problem making a short term signing like Dufty if we know where we stand from the beginning. If he comes over here on a one year deal looking to get himself an NRL deal then he’ll have to play out of his skin to do so and we get an excellent full back. Chances are, with the abundance of quality full backs in the NRL, he might not be wanted after one season anyway.

I must be the only one on here with serious reservations about Dufty. Those clips show his highlights, and his attacking play was never in question. Pity we can't find his 'lowlights reel' as well, you know the one that shows all the dropped high balls and missed 1 on 1 tackles. Welsby gets criticised for being 'dodgey' under the high ball, well Dufty aint any better.
Don't get drawn in in by the likes of Stevo into thinking he's some sort of superstar just because he's an Aussie.
To be fair, Barba was dodgy under a high ball and regularly missed tackles- he was still dynamite ball in hand and a real match winner (when he could be bothered). Dufty has similar speed agility and elusiveness , without the off- field demons.
Would be great to get him for a season.

Is all this chat on the Internet about James Bentley and him being out of contract and therefore likely to move on rubbish?. It strikes me as crazy as he puts in 100per cent every game.
He's liked and rated by fans generally. Nobody doubts his defence or effort. Not seen much in attack for Saints to judge ( although at Bradford looked very capable) .
Clearly there is a difference between his salary expectation and what the club is prepared to pay.
Wait and See.
Thanks for that. As I live close to the South Coast, my finger isn't on the pulse of whats going on. Apart from here, which is the best resource for reading about what's going on in the world of RL?
Are you on twitter? If so, then https://twitter.com/RugbyLeagueLiv2 is as good as you'll find in my opinion in terms of up to date news. They don't just repeat what they hear on message boards either, they're normally quite relaible.

NEVER WRITE OFF THE SAINTS
Hardaker wasn't signed to play centre, he was signed to play full back and won player of the year there in his first season with them. He only moved there once they realised French would be better there than at half back. Plus Hardaker had played centre a lot before for Leeds, in the NRL and internationally.

Can we sign him first before we start to argue the merits of playing him out of position or not.![]()
