Yeah, Davidson reporting Clark. He’s probably the most accurate journalist about and doesn’t tend to post stuff without a decent source. I’d be shocked if we pulled it off and had one of their best players off them.

That would be a good signing. Don't think he's been at his best the last few years but maybe a move is what he needs. That'd be some coup to pull that off.

Wire have Walker, keeping Clark another two years may not be an option to keep him sweet, or at least they've a ready made replacement..
Saints on the other hand have Pemberton who won't be ready probably for another couple of years, so makes sense for us
Lussick start, Clark off the bench. Good balance and options in the post Roby era, with Pemberton developing in the background.
If we have 4 major signings this year of Clark, Tupou, Blake and Thompson I think we will be in really good shape. Only concern is the age mix, it feels like we’re just kicking the can down the road as it were, but beats being linked to the likes of Dwyer and Leeming.
I doubt it’s unpopular at all, there’s a huge amount of risk involved. His latest injury means I can’t see him picking up and Aus deal, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we could get him for not marquee money, and we are better placed to manage the risk compared to most SL teams. The worst case is his injuries continue and Delaney and Baxter have to cover him, and the best case is we get a world class prop who can be a pack leader as we enter a transition period whom can act as a cornerstone.
I'd be surprised if Clark is played off the bench. I think he will start and that will likely mean the end for Lussick at the club. He's under contract for 2024 I know, but if the club have decided he isn't going to be the 9, sure they can see 14 doesn't suit his game.

*Not to be confused with Mike Stephenson, MBE
Can't get a break on here Lussick can he?
He's not a bad player
I do like Clark...I remember sitting at Arsenal during the WC semi final saying that I'd have Clark over McIlorum for England any day of the week. In fact I said I'd wished Roby played with Clark on the bench...
Waqa Blake and Daniel Tupou wing / centre partnership would be lethal. Pace and Strong and both over 6ft.
Welsby
Makinson
Percival
Blake
Tupou
Lomax
Dodd
Walmsley
Clark
Lees
Sironen
Batchelor
Knowles
Lussick

Wingfield
Matautua / NRLreplacement
Corey Hall 18th man.
Delaney. Norman, Davies etc.....
That'd be some side if that happened.
I do feel like the backline needs refreshing. Percival, Hopoate, Hurrell, Makinson all in or approaching their 30s. It feels like next season could be the time to inject some power and pace into the team. Blake and Tupou would certainly bring quality. Tupou obvious downside is that he'd be 32 but still playing Origin last year so still got it. Think he'd kill it in SL.
Matautia would be a huge loss, so hopefully we could sign a replacement if he did decide to leave.

Was never in line for England at the World Cup despite lack of options at hooker.
