Same as Coote same as all NRL signings.. Doesn't really mean anything.

His speed is a virtue , he has ability , he also has a reputation of being a bit of a balloon.

He might rip it up or he might not.

    Let's wait and see.

Unfortunately for us Matt Dufty is a perfect SL.player. He will destroy teams just like Jai Field.

Jai couldn't make first grade in Aus.

In looking at Wires squad there is not one player I would take over any of ours.

Thewlis over Ritson at this point just because of age and experience at Super League level.

Just reviewing Warrington's recruitment and as I am 63 this year I've sent my CV to Powell I reckon I've got a serious chance of a two year deal.

An odd signing but you suspect he isn't on big money.

Hard to know if signing experienced players to bulk up your squad is a good or bad move. Leeds have done this poorly recently with squad players blocking the progress of there juniors. Wigan have done well with Miski who has come into the squad and came in for some badly exposed youngsters that weren't ready yet
I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong.

I'd take either of their hookers, so Clark or Walker. Both darters. Saints could do with one of those on the interchange- Roby & Lussick in tandem is a blend that I don't think is most effective, as I've said before.

Dufty could be a match for Welsby in terms of tries and assists. Williams showed his quality during the World Cup. It's up to him now behind a better pack, to show it again in SL.

Just looking at their squad numbers, you'd think Russell will provide competition for Ashton and Thewlis. An initial 12 month deal they're saying, which seems good business.

Interesting to see Ratchford at #4. Suggests he could very well be playing in the centres for them.
*Not to be confused with Mike Stephenson, MBE

But you might as well give Dufty the awards now for most missed tackles, most dropped balls and most time you can dive out of the way to avoid making a tackle

Anything less than signing Owen Farrell or a new stadium would make this headline look crazy. Haven’t they got a fairly long term deal on the DW Stadium?

Wouldn't be surprised if it's announcing Mike Danson taking over. There's been background discussions for a while now.

Talk of Eddie Jones heading to nrl after Union World Cup. If it is farrell heading to wigan and the likes of Jones and Clive Woodward talking up league publicly is it a sign that the pendulum is swinging our way. With the financial difficulties there game is going through at the moment farrell maybe just the 1st of Many looking to jump ship.

It can't be that can it? Farrell is having an outstanding international career. Why would he give that (and the money he's on) to finish second in Super League with Wigan?

On the Wigan forum they think it's a new contract for Morgan Smithies I don't see how that's good news for Rugby League, it's not like he was in demand from anywhere, let alone external sports who might steal him away. Or JWH signing, or Farrell, or new investment into Wigan. The last one is interesting, although again I don't see how that would be good for RL given they already spend up to the salary cap anyway. Wigan buying the DW? I can't see how that benefits RL.

How is that good for RL though? It doesn't change a thing. Wigan were already a big club and were already spending the full cap, with arguably the biggest stars in the game over here.

They've become jealous of all the attention Leigh Leopards are getting and are changing their name to Wigan Wombats.

He'd easily be able to facilitate Wigan moving to a new ground etc...

It'd be an interested person in the sport with cash the likes I don't think we've seen before.

So why would resigning Morgan Smithies, a bang average Super League player, be 'good for the sport'? It's not like he's in demand.
