To be fair he’s lucky if he plays 10 games in that league these days. I can’t believe he’s been with the roosters 15 years! He was at the Titans at one point. That must have been loan spell. Surely it wasn’t OVER 15 years back.

I thought he was Manly for a year and then the Roosters ?

I dunno Brook i just remember him at the Titans at one time. I read in an article he’s been at the Roosters for 15 years. Im guessing he was signed up as a junior and had a few loan spells at other clubs.

Manly in 2009 and the Roosters from 2010 onwards, so he has had remarkable longevity for a forward in the NRL

My mistake. I once saw him in a sky blue jersey and assumed it was the titans. Maybe it was the all stars.
Anyway, i still can’t believe he’s been around 15 years.

Either way he's had a good career for someone who had never played league before he was signed.

Aye, because he plays about 12 games a season. Banned for the rest of them

Yeh no doubting that brook. If not dirty he’s definitely a clumsy player. One way or another he always seems to end up around someones chops.

Isn't he banned for the start of the NRL season this year following a lengthy ban in 23 that caused him to miss the Roosters run in ?
Seem to remember him getting a massive ban for smashing someone's head with a swinging arm and then getting sent off in the same game for headbutting another player (think it was against the Tigers ?).

The way the rules are going in SL JWH is going to be spending an awful lot of time sat down in 2025. The guy has a long history of bans for attacking the head of opponents, either by a swinging arm or raising the elbow going into the tackle. He's also had a fair few bans for attacking the knees of opponents.
No doubt HKR will laud this as a mega signing but I do think he'll end up being a major liability for them.

I'm sure the Disciplinary will ensure that he's missing for any time HKR play wigan, so their little cherry and white darlings don't have to risk getting clobbered

In fairness to Jared, despite him being an enforcer and stepping over the line from time to time, if you actually look at the stats he's averaged around 20 games per season for the past 10 years or so. He plays long minutes too.

Whether he can do that in SL at 36, who knows. But he's been a top quality prop for a long time.

I have found him very entertaining for the last couple of seasons. I set my stopwatch to see how long it takes for him to hit someone around the head. Usually within the first two tackles. When we played the Roosters in the WCC every tackle was high and if he plays the same way now he will hardly ever be on the field.

What he could get away with early on in his career is massively different to what he can get away with now. His bans are getting more frequent and lengthier to the point where even the Roosters can see he's becoming a serious liability and are happy to let him go

He played 18 games in 2023, 20 games in 2022 and 23 games in 2021.

Bit of a myth that he's constantly banned, that's a decent number of games and he does play good minutes too. The age is a separate conversation but his number of games played is a none issue. Whether it would become an issue over here or not is guesswork, but he's still a very good player. Strong signing for whoever picks him up.

JWH will bring a bit of theatre to SL at least and I am sure the odd bit of controversy.

Obviously has the reputation of being an enforcer, but I'd probably say he's more of a grub, the elbows and forearms are always up from him and he has taken a few heads off in defence during his time. Solid front rower, but we shall have to see how he gets on with the new tackle heights.
