Default Why are Hull FC second in the league?

Hull FC have 4 points and teams trailing them have 6 points ...why are they second in the league?

Doesn’t, make sense whichever way you look at it. Castleford should be second at the mo.

Points percentage is different to points difference. Hull have only played 2 games whereas Cas have played 3

Should definitely be percentage first then if that's the same, games played and then points difference. It's a lot harder to have a higher percentage rate when you've played more games.

The table still doesn’t make sense (bbc) Wigan are 3rd when Castleford and Catalan have the same win percentage and both a better points difference.

It’s points percentage rather than points difference that matters.

You're mixing it up and thinking win percentage and points percentage are the same thing.

Win percentage is how many league points you have (from games you've won) divided by how many games you've played x50. This gives you a WIN percentage.

To sort out points percentage (instead of points difference) you divide the number of points scored by the number of points conceded and x100.

Look at the league table pal you'll see what I mean.

Yes I know it’s when the shorter tables from the BBC and SKY are up it doesn’t make sense. Is our style of play with a tight defence putting this in our favour with PF/PA x 100 especially as we are nilling teams or keeping them to one score.

The fewer points conceded provides a significant advantage. As a consequence, a team winning by 10-1 (points percentage = 1000) is better placed than a side winning 100-91 (109.89%) even though they are equal on points difference.

I kind of agree with it, as it's logical that if Team A has won 3 games out of 3 they'll have a better points difference than Team B that's won 2 from 2, and so if the season ended today it would be unfair given that Team A had played more games to bolster their diff than Team B. So, using a multiplication system is sensible to see which teams have a better For/Against percentage rather than a simple For minus Against. If Team A wins 3 games 34-17 and has a diff of +51 but Team B has won 2 games 25-0 and has a diff of +50 it makes sense to reflect Team B's F/A percentage more effectively.

Hopefully none of this actually matters at the end of the day and we all play our allocated games.

If Covid mutates to escape the vaccine programme - which is the only way the season would be curtailed - then we've all got far bigger things than rugby to worry about.

The pantomimes gone on long enough now. Besides, the cough itself will be small potatoes once 80% of the vaccinated have the pentagons tracking microchip implanted, 10% die from blood clots, and the other 26% are left so incognative that they can’t do basic arithmetic.

Hull and Warrington draw after extra time, get the computer out to work the table out. Nine missed drop goals, six to Hull 3 to Wires, two missed penalties by Austin

I thought there had to be a winner. This must be a first?

I struggle to keep up with the rules these days. It was a proper anticlimax when the commentator said ‘thats it’ :/

Did you bet that he would string 3 words together? Or that CNN would stop babying him? Or that he wouldn’t say anything racist today?

Yeah because it only counts in 80 mins. I'm sure there's a market somewhere for AET but I've never seen it.

Shows up golden point for the joke that it is, completely unnecessary. An extra 20 mins and still a draw.

Only needed in cup ties, a draw after 80 mins should be 1 pt each.

And the irony is they don't have this in the Championship and Division 1 to 'reduce the workload on the players' .

You couldn't make this s##t up!
