Ok, so there's some ridiculous names but fair play to them for getting this off the ground. I can see the UK starting to lose more players oversea's very soon, probably from the lower ranks to start with and maybe even top amateur players if they have employment/are paid enough. I must admit though, I think this is a good move, I've spoken to loads of Yanks whom are quite taken by "Rugby" even though they don't understand it. They certainly like the brutality and speed of compared to Gridiron.

With the right backing though they could decimate SL in a few years.

If they can crack the American market it could be massive.

Good luck to them, be very difficult, but there's plenty of market over there, however the similarities to American Football make it easy enough..

To the non-observer, it's American football, and you get six tackles, and can't pass it forward, with no helmets etc. It may just be enough to perk their interest, as it's not completely alien to them

    Boston 13's for me.
I would love to see the game take off over there, there must be some really good athletes available who don't make it at American football. Somehow they need to get some top class coaching set over there.

It would take years to make it well known in America but you never know. The internet and YouTube has made the world a much smaller place.

If you want to grow the game , this is arguably the way to go . Wish the concept a great success

I,very been to the States every year for the last 25 and have spoken to quite a few gridiron college team coaches and they all seemed quite knowledgeable about our game, it would be great if the game took off over there because the profile would be raised significantly.

If league can get a foothold stateside there’s a huge potential athlete pool. Look at all the college football players who don’t get drafted and the multitudes more who don’t go any further than high school ball. The Americans have taken to Union 7’s quite well because of the fast pace and physicality, you’d think League would interest them for the same reasons.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

Much better idea than one Canadian team in SL. I played Union in the US for a couple of years. Half of our team were college footballers that didn’t make it to pro but wanted to continue in sport. Those people could form quite a large pool of potential players. Hope it succeeds.

I'm almost positive that in America, the union code had used the term "league" in their club competition.

    Something like American League Rugby.

I guess it's a problem that we've always had with our adoption of the word 'league' in the name of our sport.
Perhaps the Yanks should follow the French and call it 'Thirteens'?

Major League sounds better than Super League.

This seems pie in the sky nonsense. They’re attempting to go professional from the outset? The amount of questions raised from this are far greater than the questions answered.

    They both sound shit.

I'm not really bothered what the yanks call it but we should call it the Rugby League Championship instead of coming across like Netball's lovechild.

Surely it should be National Rugby League, to go with National Football League or National Basketball Association - but I'm sure our friends down under wouldn't be having any of that.

I somehow can't see the septics being too bothered what the Aussie's think unlike us who bend over at every opportunity.
