Default Steve Prescott Foundation 2021 challenge

Walk 1000 miles over the course of the year, and improve your mental and physical health.

It works out at less than 3 miles a day, and if you are already active you’ll be amazed how much you already walk so this will be a cinch!

It will take you less than an hour per day, so if you walk the dog, walk to the shops, walk around an office, work outdoors you may already be contributing a chunk anyway!

    Average 2.74 miles a day!

Did you know it takes less than an hour a day's walking to hit 1000 miles in 12 months? That doing so dramatically boosts your immunity and cuts your risk of diabetes, heart attack, obesity, stroke and depression?

If you raise £50 you get a t shirt

OR if you aren’t fancying it, how’s about you sponsor ME?

A quid, 2 quid, 5 quid or whatever you can put in, let’s give the SPF a boost after a challenging 2020!

I am swimming it. Bit cold yesterday in Pickmere so only did a mile. Pool was closed today, so a bit behind target. Will make up for it.

Ok so a quick update with this. I set a target of £500 and 1000 miles and by the end of January I’d done almost £300 and close to 200 miles so i doubled my target to £1000.

I also contracted Covid 19 on the 8th February and lost 14 days with isolating and another week or so with fatigue (I was covering much smaller distances)

As we near the end of April I’m a 3rd of the way time-wise. I’ve hit £910 and 540 miles.

I’ve had a couple of anonymous donors so if it’s anyone on here, thanks!

If anyone can spare £1 or anything more, please do so for what is a fantastic cause.

quick update. I surpassed the 1000 mile target today. I’ve based it on recorded walks on Strava, where I’ve set off on a walk rather than just using steps so walking around the office and showroom at work didn’t count, Norma walking around at home or in the supermarket etc.

I was down to my last couple of miles and wanted to finish it in St Helens so drive over this afternoon and did my last 2 miles walking from the Prescott bridge and then 3 laps around the stadium.

I’m at £1150 and would appreciate if anyone would Chuck a quid in for a great cause.

The 1000 miles is NOT the end, I’m going to carry on and aim for another 200 miles before the end of the year, and I’d love to raise £2000 if I can.
