Looks like they are balancing the books. Employing players wives as cleaners around an empty rented stadium that doesn’t require cleaning, apparently doesn’t wash with Super Leagues financial transparency board anymore. Someone give the numbers man at Warrington the heads up to!

You could be right, forget all about that side of the dark arts. As Angry Dave just mentioned they must be bricking it especially with the balance sheet.

Sorry to destroy the one eyed red vee sheep. Here are some facts.

The players who are leaving Wigan. Out of a total of 22 games played

    Joe Burgess played 13
    Ben Flower played 9
    Joe Greenwood played 9
    Sean O'Loughlin played 8
    Jake Shorrocks played 2
    Jack Wells played 2
    Harry Rushton played 1
    Josh Woods played 0
    Romain Navarrete played 0
    Morgan Escare played 0

Of those rumoured to be leaving
    George Burgess played 8
    Mitch Clarke played 9
    Chris Hankinson played 3

With no reserves and no dual reg and a host of good young forwards it makes a lot of sense to trim the squad.

My concern is really over the wing position, over the last 10 years we have brought players like Charnley, Burgess, Marshall, Manfredi, and Davies through from the academy so always had cover. I don't see anyone in our academy ready to step up yet especially with Marshall probably being out until June. I'd try to bring Tom Davies back, I know we are looking to strengthen that position.

The rumors of burgess leaving appear to be from hopeful Wigan fans, wasn't there some bizarre rumour he was going to part of a swop deal with Luke Thompson mooted at some stage

The fact is unless he retires with injury wigan are stuck with him, you have bought a busted flush happens to every club that's just the way of things.

I reckon you'll miss Burgess and O'loughlin, granted O'Loughlin wasn't the player of old but still a good leader to have in the dressing room.

A class player is a class player regardless of who he plays for and he was class

For someone who doesn't care you appear to have a lot to say about Wigan.

Hava good Christmas and New Year my friend, we'll resume hostilities next year. I'll be glad to see the back of 2020, as I guess most of will.

I care about putting you in your place, indeed I take it very seriously.

All the best Brian, same to you and yours. You're not wrong, I'd rather sit through a back catalogue of your dominance than repeat 2020.

This is beginning to read like the Christmas truce, is someone going to arrange a football match (rugby type) in the middle of Main Street, Billinge

That sounds like a plan, me and Rogues playing one on one nah, even at his extensive years he'd probably give me a run for my money the way my ankles are at the moment and then hit me with his walking stick. I can be a •••• at times but never let it be said I don't have a sense of humour or a good heart. I love Saints like my family but 99% of the time it's just banter, I just have a certain way of conveying my feelings at times.

Letting your "reasonable" mask slip, eh? Well here's to a Merry Christmas to you from a "Red Vee one eyed sheep". Have a good one from a supporter of the back to back champions. Cheers.

Are Wigan fans still insisting George Burgess is retiring? Feels like months since this was known? Great use of another years cap space!
