On the schools they should look to open primary school after half term, my little one who's in year one will have missed 40% of school come Easter if they remain shut in what are the most important formative years, however should I decide to take him out of school three days early to save £1000, we're told how important school is
At the moment it does very much look as though this virus in its various forms will be with us for many years to come peaking from the late Autumn through to Early spring when its at its most threatening. The experts are already saying we could be carrying out vaccinations on an annual basis.

If this is so society will change in many forms, education would have be reformed, the work place environment could jump into a robotic one and socialising could develop into a "big brother" controlling perspective. On the otherhand medical science may find a DNA road map that could steer the immune system to respond to any type of virus, lets hope its the latter before society starts to break down.

We’ll be living with it forever. However it will simply be managed as flu is. It will still kill people every year but a vaccine will reduce the risk.

It’s just when we get back to normal that concerns me. I’ve got two boys- 7 and 10 who have missed far too much school, not to mention their friends, football etc.

They’ve had a rubbish time as have other kids and it’s just hard to feel optimistic at the moment about when things will change.

There's no way society will live like this for another year or so. People could accept it in lockdown 1 when it was new and can accept it now the vaccine is being rolled out. As soon as the vulnerable are vaccinated, society will be demanding for the relaxing of measures. Once everyone is vaccinated then society will demand for total relaxation and as close to normality as possible.

There's been no end game previously but the vaccine is the end game for Covid. For the government to then change that end game, lots of people would start ignoring the measures in place. It could create chaos and could ruin lives in different ways.

Covid like the flu will be around forever, it'll just be a case of ensuring were all vaccinated and our body builds those natural anti bodies to cope with it like we can the flu. Sadly people will still die but it will be more controllable which will ensure the NHS isn't under too much pressure.

Here's a quote from one of the papers recently, from a Government source:

"Ministers want to keep lockdown in place for as long as they can get away with it to make sure the rate is as low as possible."

I said it in December, but the idea is not that restrictions are eased once the vulnerable are vaccinated (possibly out of fear of the accusations that faced them last March, that they didn't take it seriously enough).

The restrictions being eased are only loosely connected with the virus. They will be eased if / when public opinion turns against it, or Boris Johnson starts facing substantial anger from his own MPs.
