If flower had of played he would have been worth 15 points to Wigan.

Well done lads, Wigan were very good and played it more open than us on the outside. Grace defense kept us in it a few times before they got us with that play, apart from the knock on Theo looked to play it a bit more expansive and his defense as always was very good.
The sport was a winner tonight good game to watch, last time I remember us being in a tough one like that which we won was the Leeds semi in 2007.
Dux question on the drop goal bouncing back over the bar is interesting and WeeWaa point on the Old Trafford in goals is well spotted.
I thought JL 30m return from Hardaker`s penalty miss was great thinking and kept our momentum up to the last.
We will be a better team for that win, we needed one of them to go our way of that style to have belief in ourselves.
What a finish to the game and season thank you Saints.

I think I have the best one:

When Welsby scored I made that much noise the next door neighbours (crapball fans) knocked on the door asking if everything was alright

Fair play to them for knocking though

Can’t take 5 seconds out of an interview to congratulate the winning team whereas Saints take time out of celebrations to give O’Loughlin a guard of honour as he leaves the field.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

Thought both teams were excellent. Always good to beat Wigan but you do have to say fair play to them, think it's a shame for SOL to go out like that but glad Jammer got his send off. Think that has to be my best sporting moment of all time when Welsby scored - will talk about that for decades.

They ruined Cunningham’s send off in 2010, only fair we returned the favour.

It sums up what their club is all about.

The guy's a man child. Gurns whenever the slightest thing goes right, throws a tantrum and chucks stuff about when the merest thing goes wrong. If you could pour Phil Mitchell into the role of a rugby league coach, you'd literally end up with Lam. Contrast his histrionics with O'Loughlin's clear respect and affection for Jammer at the end (and vice versa) and he only ends up looking worse if that's possible.

He was pointedly saying that the penalties Wigan gave “kept them (us) in the game....”

You realise how Rugby works? If you don’t foul, there isn’t a pen?

Also the fact that the pressure one team puts the other under, and the inability to cope with that pressure, is what very often leads to conceding penalties in the first place.

This idea of "giving away" penalties is very often b0110cks. And in a tight, high intensity game almost always is.

To be fair to Lam, if we'd have lost the game in the manner he did, I'm not sure we'd have been so magnanimous, eh?

We wouldn’t have been, but I’d have expected Woolf as a professional representing our club to have been.

I concur, the least he could have done was acknowledge the back to back champions

Had a few too many now to make in depth comment.
Wow what a game though. Defence from both sides sides was nothing short of amazing
What a finish. You couldn't write a script that way.
We struggle to sell this game?
I'm feeling emotionally drained.... More than a bit tipsy.
Made up for the team and the coach. I think he's come in for a bit of unfair criticism during the year.
Despite everything I'm feeling pretty CHAMPION.

    Couldn't agree more, Paul.

Thought we got a little bit lucky with the call on Fages, but hey ho, we've had a more than a few go against us in previous Grand Finals.

I’m still convinced Taia was onside. What ••••s me off is the lack of basic technology for the video ref. In cricket they can show a split screen of the ball going past the bat to pinpoint the exact point a sound is heard or the same to check whether someone has made their ground in a run out for example. Are you telling me there’s no way to line up the side on angle with the reverse angle so you can see the offside line and the point the ball is kicked?

There probably is, but it costs money. I'm happy going with the on field decision there as there's no proof either way. I'm just pleased the ref gave a try for the winner, or else we may still be playing now.

Wigan would have won by 30 points if Ben Flower had played!

Definitely debatable.i think he was dead in goal though when he touched the ball down. Don't honestly care now!

Wow. It’s been quite a few hours since the final whistle and I still don’t know how to sum that game up. That last 60 seconds will stay with me forever.

Well done and congratulations to everyone involved. Yes it’s been different and yes it’s been ugly at times, but we are the Champions, again, and for now what’s all that matters.
